Absolutely positively need it this year to cross into CN. I"m going to Hyder in June so now, I'm set.

I toyed with the idea of just spending only one night in Nakusp to make the run up to Hyder, but it adds pretty close to 3000km to a trip thats already approaching 10K for me. Just to be able to claim I've ridden a bike to Alaska? And really, its the reader digest version of 'Alaska'. Ya, technically you've done it.. but its not ALASKA.

(Can you tell I'm still trying to talk myself out of it?)

BTW, stuff like pepper spray , mace etc are best left at home too. Canadian Laws are different regarding personal protection. I am unsure of things like Tasers and Knives , which are more and more common in the states due to are perpetual state of paranoia

Not sure about the Canadian guards but the US ones didn't seem to mind much when they peeked my luggage on the back of my Honda and saw this :huh:

You're right it's hardly worth the effort...

Ray - get the passport. It makes the border less of a hassle. BTDT both ways, and the passport just avoids a lot of BS at the border.

Fuel Cells - They sometimes ask about it, but never discussed it further after I explain it's a second gas tank. Do NOT put radiation symbols or biohazard symbols on your fuel cell. No humor there, or so I've been told. :dribble:

Hyder - Go There! Buy fudge and bring some back to CFR for Barb, just to rub it in that she should have gone too.
