Has anyone installed this new utility on their PCIII? If so, what did you start with for settings?

Accelerator Pump

I turned it on for my Rocket, and it makes a BIG difference - the throttle response is now instant, and it picks up the front wheel in first and second gear with ease.

Yes.

I did considerable testing with it.

Found nothing but excess fuel consumption.

Will come in very handy if new full exhaust systems, more aggressive cams or ported heads become available. (not holding my breath)

((dang - I'm not a FNG anymore!))

:)

... one more thing to 'not hold your breath for,' buddy. ;)

I'm developing a difficulty in tolerating certain kinds of posts... and... let's just say, the worldwide site is getting bad enough. <_<

I think one of the best bike sites on the planet is the FZ1 owners site. Sure, there are a few squiddly posters, and 'grump-a-lumps,' but also a lot of guys that know their stuff... and Pat Glenn!

I still frequent the FZ1 site, because, honestly, I seem to find fewer totally ignorant posts than other bike sites. I hate to write that, but it's true. I'm NOT talking about someone that doesn't know anything and is honestly seeking insights from other riders... (I love to help other riders, no matter their experience) I'm referring to people that *****, moan and whine... and expect somebody else to figure things out for them. Sadly, and I'll bet Warchild could confirm this, the more someone does for the good of others on a message board... there's a significant number that are upset they don't get more. For nothing.

From friends in the motorcycle biz, I've become aware that motorcyclists are a tough bunch to do business with.

Does it seem to anyone else that the FJR is the '#1 purchased bike' among people that have never owned a sportbike, or sport-touring bike... and thus unaware that there is no absolutely perfect motorcycle?

I remember, a couple of years ago on a different board... this complete butter-brain traded in his GoldWing for an FJR, and was bragging about how he took that 'blankety-blank' thing right back to the dealer and told him it was a piece of junk! He could feel bumps in the road on this motorcycle, SO IT WAS DEFECTIVE! The guy lived on a 'chip and seal' road in RURAL INDIANA! Did he expect the thing to float 8-inches over the pavement? Who knows?

Whew! Sorry. Rant off. Geesh! Didn't bargain for all that, didja?

:dribble:

Pat's FZ1 web site for mods and tech info is very much like Warchild's FJR site. But Pat has been working on his site a couple of years longer so it has even morw than WC's. I was able to install Ivan's Jet Kit in my FZ1 (including drilling out the pilot jet holes) from it, and later to rebuild my bike after a tumble.

The "best" bike site? Well, I like this one better. I even liked the EZboard site better before the split. I had over 5,500 posts over there, but more and more it seemed like the bears were running the zoo. I rarely ever post there anymore.

But Pat Glenn is a gentleman and has a wonderful tech web site.

I have installed the PCIII Accelerator Pump feature. Unlike most people it made an obvious GOOD difference in snap roll-on performance for me. YMMV. Since new, my gas mileage has ranged between 35-39 mpg and that hasn't changed with the Accelerator Pump installed. I frequently operate in the snap open throttle range that would activate the 'Pump.

I have had good luck with:

85% sensitivity

18% fuel increase

25 engine revolutions

Next time I am fiddling with the PCIII I may reduce the engine revolutions a bit. Free, easy to manipulate and can be removed with a click or two. Go for it.

Cheers Yank. :D

Do you still have the fizzy?

This site's server speed IS phenominal, no question there! B)

Ionbeam, by any chance are you using the 'pump feature' with Wally's map?

:)

Hey Lick! (That's what you get for calling me Yank! :p )

Yup, I sure do have the Fizzy. I only have a couple of more mods I wanna do to it:

1) Mirror extenders. I have them, but I haven't installed them.

2) Voltmeter. Have that too, but haven't installed it.

I've got a few left for the Feejer, but unlike most people I don't crave FZ1 mirrors for it.

Ya know, I think I got snit for calling you that over on the FZ1 board, too. :haha:

I guess some people just never learn. Sorry about that. ((guess I better get back over to the other site with the snitty brits ;) ))

( Oh, and the other site works well on my PocketPC, so I can read the forum no matter what airport I'm stranded in. )

Cheers! :D

Some very valid points John, but if there is indeed no absolutely perfect motorcycle then the FJR comes pretty close. :)

You’ll be happy to know we don’t have any complainers here. Welcome to heaven on the ‘net. :D

Nope, been running the 502 map. My map decision was made by e.t./mph at New England Dragway. Wally is a bit slower than the 502 in my bike. YMMV. :)

ROFLMAO! :haha:

DOH! TwoWheel... I think I just figured out what we were PM'ing about. Sorry about that. My rant above was triggered by my recent perceptions that ALL of the FJR boards are being 'inundated' right now.

Sorry for that, good buddy! :cownoy:

:)
