I've been trying to find a map that will give good & mileage/performance between 4000 to 5500 rpm. Trying to get better mileage for longer rides . . .

I have the PCIII just stock out of the box and it gives me 45 to 50 mpg if I'm behaving.

Should we ask for more?

I'm running the '06+ version of the Wally Smoothness map on mine with the updated ECU and Staintune cans. I've noticed my MPG is down a bit from stock but not enough to worry about and certainly not enough to give up the smooth operation.

Then again, given the heavenly sound that the 'Tunes make, it just may be my right wrist to blame :yahoo:

Thanks for replies. I run stock filter & cans.

I get great mileage when rpm is kept way down (best was 51 mpg at abt 60 mph average) but above 4k I start really losing mpg. I was hoping that someone who does Rally riding might have an adjusted map that would help with mileage at higher rpm . . . .Best bet may be to just unplug PCIII . . . .

I bet you're not running the rpm I stated, I would be happy to get 40 at that rpm . . . .

Interesting, before my PCIII I would get around 45-47mpg with a 70-75mph cruising speed (which is right about 4k rpm).

After my PCIII, I get around 42-44mpg. I do have the Remus exhaust on my 06AE now but I guess 42ish seems to be decent when cruising at 4,000 rpm.

I will say that with my bike the worst spot for "the buzz" is between 4,000-4,500 rpm for me, so I usually cruise just below it and hit the throttle when I need that jump in traffic.

Yes, I also get good mileage at 70 . . . .Sounds like I aksed a question none of the PCIII owners have ever dealt with. Not being a 'puter person I'll have to just leave things with the stock map it seems. Thanks to those that gave this thread consideration. ;)

Go into the software provided on the dynojet site. Load the current map, and start playing with the values, leaning a couple numbers at a time in the desired areas, fattening the numbers where you want them. Save it as a custom map, load and test. The software makes it easy to modify as needed. I've also combined maps, the Wally map below 5000 rpm, the Holeshot above, for the best of both worlds.

rad,

Would the Wally/Holeshot map work on my bike with stock filter/exhaust ? I know it has to be the '06 & up version. I'm not comfortable with software & worry about causing a too lean condition. I need to immerse myself in the learning of the dyno software.

I can't find what the difference is between the M419-000 & M419-001 maps they offer on the DJ site either.

Edit : Called DJ, Zero map makes no changes to system & 001 map is enhanced mapping. Makes sense to my foolish question . . . .

I should say I'm using the Wally/Holeshot combo map with my FJR.
