Tony, how is it that all of your April bikes are listed as being in transit while none of my dealer's (Hollink Motorsports - Spencerport, N.Y.) four April bikes are in transit according to the list you sent me?
The list only shows bikes that are invoiced. The bikes I have showing as "stock in transit" would not show up on the list if I didn't have some of the previous ones still showing on my floorplan. It takes a few days for them to go off the list after they are paid off.

It can be confusing as the invoiced bikes will show before they arrive at the dealership as well.

Tony

The Priority Delivery Program. It is what it is. Most of us went through it and lived to talk about it.

Now did anybody get outright shanked, paid their $500, waited, then never got a bike at all? Now THAT would be the supreme pisser!

I may be the lonely one here, but I really like the PDP program. I think it allows those willing to make a deposit (and wait) lock-in a great $price$ (11,500 OTD) for a scarce and in-demand bike. If I had to wait for a dealer to have one on floor display, then I would have to pay alot more $$$$$$.

Sure I don't like not physically touching the bike before buying. And I don't like waiting 5-6 mo. Absolutely, the communication could be better and SHOULD be better. Delivery dates SHOULD be set with complete performance in mind.

But knowing all of this and having a choice (we all do), I still choose the PDP program. I'm guaranteed to get the bike I chose at a lessor set price.

And don't forget.... the PDP program is designed for the mfr, not the customer. It guarantees Mammi Yammi that all the bikes they ship are sold and spoken for.

Nobody twisted my arm, I evaluated and made my happy choice. Yes, I'm still waiting. It has been fun to play the role of an impatient and irritated customer.

But..... I'm glad I'm getting my 2006A Cobalt Blue touring rocket!!! :D

Thank you Luke.

I concur that as an intelligent adult human beings, we all went into this knowing what the program was, and as you stated nobody twisted your arm to do this nor held a gun to your head.

Yes, there could be improvements to the program, but does anybody know a situation created by humans that is perfect?

For those of us that have been through this before, there is no excuse for all the carping, moaning and whining. As the saying goes the first time shame on the other party the second time shame on me!

When we all do get our respective mounts it will be all the sweeter and worth the wait.

Hey, Howie, maybe you should take some of your own advice, huh? The title of my post is "PDP Issues". If your so tired of reading posts from waiters regarding PDP, don't read them.

First of all, most of us are not "bitching about the wait". We expected to wait. What I object to is the lack of communication, poor execution of the PDP program, and apparent disregard that Yamaha has for it's customers and it's dealers. In this day and age, most companies strive to exceed their customers expectations. That's what I look for in companies that I do business with on a regular basis.

I created this post for two reasons;

1.) It makes me feel better to get this stuff off my chest

2.) "Getting over it" isn't going to help next years waiters. Expressing legitimate concerns in this manner might. I'll bet Tony wants to hear from customers who are unhappy with some aspect of his dealership. That's how companies improve, by recognizing areas that need improvement.

And Howie, I did buy an ST1300. I didn't like it. That's why I'm an FJR waiter. Now, you STFU...
I'm sorry if my post bothered you. But if it did, then you must be one of the candy-*** whiners I'm referring to. If not, then you're not.

My whole point was all the PDP issues, delivery issues, tracking issues, have been written about, ad nauseum, ad infinitum, for 10 months in this forum, and 3 years in every other FJR forum on the 'net.

Don't complain about the tumor and tell us you didn't know smoking was bad for you.

That's all you got?! What a wuss! :haha: :D

My complaints with the program are (I Think) legit and dragged to death in this forum.

I Do but Don't mind the wait. I was told about it, expected it, no suprises here.

(Biggest complaint) What I do mind is having that long of a wait and not being able to customize my bike (I like the European paint job or choose a diff color) or the AE heated grips on the A (how hard could it be at the factory).

I would like better info on an expected delivery date (see do but don't above) (TONY YOU ARE GREAT)

I would also like to see, feel, touch, hear what I am dropping $13,000 on but again, I bought into the hype, advertising, word of mouth, whatever. so as long as I get my bike by June nothing is unexpected in this dept.

But, the one thing I DO LIKE is the limited # of FJs on the road keeps demand high and value high. It, will really suck if I crash the bike and have to wait on a replacement, but I wouln't be the first.

My .02

OK, let's recap

We've got waiters, and waiter baiters.

We've got waiter whiners, waiter baiter whiners, and waiter baiters baiting waiter baiter whiners.

We've got waiter whiners whining about waiter baiters whining about waiter whiners.

And we've got Tony, maintaining some sense of professionalism amongst the waiter whiner baiting and whining waiter baiter baiting.

Does that just about cover it?

Yes, your post bothered me Howie. Yes, I knew what I was getting in to. Yes, the subject has been written about ad naseum. Yes, PDP does have some redeeming virtues. No, there are no perfect people. companies, or programs. No, Yamaha didn't promise to deliver the product on a specific date. Happy?

And it's Mr. Candy *** Whiner to you Howie.

Tony, I really appreciate you taking the time to try to clear this up for me. Your right about it being confusing. Are you saying that some or all of Hollink's April FJR's could be stock in transit and not show up on the list with yours because he hasn't had any FJR's invoiced to him yet?
