With all this nice weather, I wanted to fire up the grill. Only problem is that I didn't have any charcoal, grill cleaning tools, or skewers. Off to wal*mart and the grocery store I went.

I also had the chicken, onion, peppers, and tomatoes to be used for kabob's tonight as well as the lighter fluid in the saddle bags. haha

If you had a '03 you could have short cut the whole process. Tie the chicken to your legs, put the veggies in your pants pockets and go for a long ride. By the time you get home it should all be cooked

I also regularly haul bags of hardwood charcoal and saddle bags of food home. When I leave the grocery store with a cart of groceries people ask me where I plan to put it all. They are amazed to see it all easily fit in the bags.

I carried all of my work items, (hardhat, extra boots for the mud, tape measures, architectural drawings,) AND everything I needed to go shooting, (gun, ammo, holster, eye and ear protection, 200 rounds of ammo,) in addition to the always on the bike flat kit and first aid kit, with me last Thursday. My wife called and asked me to pick up a gallon of milk on the way home. NO problem.

I LOVE a bike with bags and room to strap things down.

Paul, Don't you have any Wal-Mart's closer than Illinois? Look at the tag on the car behind you! :D

What's rarely mentioned are the primo parking opportunities available when shopping with the bike. You can park in any little hole-at the local WalMart I put Frank right in the bike rack next to the Schwinns. The looks I get are priceless, but the kids love it.

True. The one lone exception I've run into regarding sidewalk parking was at the local Sears... Fucking parking lot nazi's shooed me away under threat of giving me a ticket... Ooooooh, a Sears parking lot ticket! I askeered! As soon as their speedy little yellow-blinking-light-equipped golf cart rounded the corner, I was back on the walk.

**** 'em. I'm a rebel. :p

Yer gonna be a rebel without a sidecase iffn ya hit any bumps with that bird in der.

You just have to figure out how to attach the grill to the back of the FJR so you can have a real tailgate party, maybe add a little collapsible umbrella for a beach party. It is fun to go shopping with the bike. Love the spots by the lightposts by the front door.

I wish I had a picture: I recently rode over to my kids place to replace her brake pads. Well. I found a broken spring, so off I go to the parts store to get one. Of course they don't sell one spring, you have to buy the pair, in a big box. OK, so I decide if I'm going to change both springs I might as well replace both struts as well. Two more big boxes. And don't forget the brake pads. And, of course, I didn't own a sring compressor, I do now.

Anyway, the parts guy had to come outside and watch me get all that stuff on the bike because he didn't believe it could be done. All but the tree big boxes went into the cases. The springs on the back seat with one strut oin top of thae springs and one strut on top of the Givi. That's the first time I ever needed that little rack on top of my Givi. :)

Hijack or no - if you have a golf club backpack style bag w/a top cover just put it on and drive away. Travels well up to about 70mph and the looks are priceless
