Does anyone know how to get in contact with Gerault or I think his name is Gary. The guy that builds the awesome backrests for the FJR's. I believe he is in New York.

Yes it is..

The 07 FJR pictured in his ad is my friends old FJR we tested it on for fitment, angle, bolt length, etc.

All the 07 pic's, I personally took. The seat material was about dead on a match for the stock seat. The rest of the design is top notch.

NOTE: (I don't have any $ investment with him (re the back rest) BUT I do business with him making helmet lock brackets for BMW's, MV's,that he also sells.

will this fit the Gen 1's or would it have to be modified...
I have one F/S that I made for my old 04. Its NOT a quick release and uses the factory rear luggage plate to

bolt down thru. Its made of steel and powder coated. If interested, PM me. I'm almost straight across the state from you(about 3 hours). The pad was about $80 alone, probably $120..

(And yes, that's dust on it from sitting in the closet!)
