So I spent a couple of weeks in the Philippines at Boracay Island and now I am in Bangkok for a couple weeks. The traffic in both places is what you would call a symphony of chaos. Traffic lights, road striping and street signs are only a suggestion. Its who can maneuver in front of the next guy first. Everyone drives inches from each other and they don't look twice. The motorcycles lane split, road split, they just split everything. There are thousands of bikes everywhere, outnumbering cars. Most of them are taxis. Working taillights, headlights or both are optional, even at night. Regardless, I have yet to see one traffic accident. One thing I know, I sure miss my FJR. Here are some photos to give you an idea.

This is the typical taxi in Boracay

Then take it to one of a dozen nearby restaurants and have them cook it for you.

Total cost, $10 for two people including the food.

Brings back all the wonderful memories of my Thailand trip.

For those that haven't been to that region of the world, it's a must at least one time in your life.

Thanks for posting.

So we decided to head over to Chinatown since everyone around here is gearing up for the Chinese New Year. Apparently there is a Chinatown everywhere you go in the world. As usual, traffic is crazy and most regular car taxis won't take you anywhere where they have to sit in traffic. So we hitched a ride on a tuk tuk.

After a couple of days resting, we resumed the touring. Today we took a private longboat ride through the small canals west of Bangkok. Tomorrow we are going to the Grand Palace. Since I have so many photos, I am going to post the links and you can view them at your leisure. I will be adding daily to the Thailand Vacation site. Please forgive the goofy or sappy photos with the locals, I just posted everything out of the camera. Enjoy !!
