And the cops around here know it's an easy citation to write up the polarized plastic license covers.Farkle of the year 2010: Electric license plate cover....
This is the way that newer fixed post cameras work in the UK. We also have cameras that work out your average speed over a distance of up to two miles by registering your plate number.Forget radar. The next logical step is connecting the speed sensors embedded in the roadway to a camera. I understand this is already being done in Arizona. (Can't confirm). The only upside is that the sensors are in the center of the lane and probably won't pick up a motorcycle hugging the lane edge. Problem is, they're everywhere, they come up on you quickly and without warning, and it takes a lot of concentration to hug a lane edge for very long.
Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. Land of the free my ***.
Do they mount them out of shotgun range? This is the way that newer fixed post cameras work in the UK. The next generation is even worse, by combining a network of the above cameras and sharing info between them they can follow you down many roads, even county wide, and work out your average speed on all possible sections. The first you will know about it is a ticket in the post. I'm just hoping that in the present climate no one will be able to afford to install it.
Damn, lost license for 6 months for driving 30 over?Classic story out of England about the CEO of a speed camera supplier getting busted by one at over 100 mph:
