Im trying to decide if i want a black one or wait to see what they come out with in 09, If anyone has pics of their 08 out in the sun could they post them? I have only seen them in the show room and sad to say the black indoors isnt doing anything for me. Thanks!

I have not been a big fan of black bikes - but when I got me FJR - I was a converted man!

I don't have any pics, but looking at the previous ones, it's really hard to pick up the sparkle and depth it has.

I'd bet if you asked the dealer real nice he'd roll it out in the sun for you.

Gott agree. I thought I'd like the blue more but the black *is* gorgeous. And, as my wife says, "It goes with everything!"

Thanks for the pics, I had an 06 and i sold it and have been regreting it ever since so im looking for another one. I love the 06 Blue but i dont think Yamaha is going to come out with another dark (Cobalt) blue any time soon.

I didn't think I liked the 08 when I saw it at the Cycle Show inside. After seeing them out and riding with them I really like the black!!

The black is really nice. I too have not been a big fan of black bikes, mostly because of how common the color has been. But once the '08 FJ is out in the sun, the beautiful black with metal-flake shines like no tomorrow. It is a beautiful machine. Personally, I like it better than the Black-Cherry on the '07. Like any black vehicle, it takes a little work to keep it looking this good.

Black is by far the nastiest color for this bike that I have seen to date. It's a pain in the ass to keep clean and looks like crap with every color accessory you put on it. :angry:

Don't buy a black one! Don't even think about it. In fact, I think everyone who has a black one (except me) should have theirs committed to a junk yard and destroyed so that I don't see them on the road.

Whatever you do, do NOT look at the photos in my signature. They will make you sick and you may need to buy a new keyboard after looking at them and throwing up. :glare:

What is the mount you use for your Zumo and where did you get it? Any special tools required for the install?
