I am to pick-up my 2006A FJR from D&H Cycle, Cullman, Alabama in late April. They say I am #30 of 33 in April. I will be travelling back to Oklahoma City.

If you are picking-up your bike around that time, and the geograpy makes sense, is anyone interested in riding back together?

It's a great idea. Mine is scheduled for May, and I ride back to Houston. I already have my route plotted! :D

Ordered the bike Dec. 16th

jjC6, did you order an A or AE? I would assume if it is a A then it would be early May? I know we will probably have to wait to see when the actual dates will be but it seems possible.

Hey Luke

I will be picking mine up about that time as well, and riding back to Seattle. I would be pleased to ride together as far as OK City with you if it worked out. Are you planning on doing a 600 mile oil change on the ride home? I was thinking of having one done at Tony's place in Texarkana (about 600 miles from Cullman). Or were you going to wait till you got back before worrying about it?

I'm 60 miles south of D&H in Birmingham. I have an '05... I could meet you there for a short break-in ride if you would like. Lemme know.

Aldrichster, your company sounds good. Hwy 82? I really would like to meet Tony. He sounds like a great guy. His part of the country has some sights too.

I was thinking of doing a break-in run in/around Cullman and then changing the oil at D&H before taking off across country. Then change oil again at home. You'd be welcome overnight at the house in OKC if you wanted to. Btw, I used to live in Seattle. Do you know which # you are in April? This trip might also work out for jjC6 as he could go through Texarkana back to Houston.

SouthernFJR, your offer sounds good too. Maybe you could show us where we should do the break-in run.

Hey, this just keeps gettin' better.

Hey Luke - sorry I haven't responded. I've been in SEATTLE all week!

My bike is an A model.

I'm #21 for April delivery. Here's the deal, I will be in Europe the last week in April and won't be able to get to Cullman until around the first week in May, or so. Depending of course upon whether the bike has been delivered or not, here's my tentative plan:

Fly into Huntsville Thursday May 4

Pick up bike, do the paper work, do the break in ride and oil change Fri May 5

Cullman to Greenville Miss. Sat. May 6

Greenville to Texarkana Sun May 7

Have Tony do the 600 mile oil change Monday am May 8 - then on to somewhere in OK later that day (by the way, thanks for the offer to stay with you at your place - very nice indeed considering you have never met me)

Does that work at all with what you were thinking of for your own plan?

May 4 in Cullman will probably work but I would like to get back sooner.

I'm thinking of getting the break-in ride and first oil change on Thursday. Then hit the road and stop for the night when convenient. Friday travel so we could get close enough to Texarkana that we could be at Tony's dealership by about 10am Saturday for the 600 mile oil change. Then be in Oklahoma City for Saturday night. No hard schedule for OKC, Sunday will work too. Especially if we ride the SE Okla hills (think Talahina). But I would like to be in Texarkana on Saturday.

It's a bit more ambitious, but still allows time to keep the speed/rpm down and varied for the break-in period. What do you think?

I'll be picking my bike up between May 17-19 from D&H( I'm 5 out of 13 for May and will be in the area for the World Championship Trails outside of Chatanuga) and be riding back to New England on Monday 5/22. Anyone else going my way?
