hello all

went to pick her up today, first look, immaculate, they had it sitting outside waiting for me, man when the sun hits it the color just pops out.

did the quickie "break in", most of the motoman, but being on public streets couldn't take it all the way up, would of easily been in triple digits in 3rd.

afterward had them change oil and filter.

then hit the pavement, 265 miles, took the long way home. :D :D :D

my first impression--- boy am not in riding shape anymore :dribble:

but seriously, the bike is awesome. balance and handling- effortless, just look where you want to go and shes there.

wonderful power, range simply everywhere on the dial - wow

brakes are awesome too, really gives great feedback with very little effort

mileage- started trip 1 bar short of full tank, still have 3 bars left, figure thats high 30's, granted wasnt doing any aggressive throttling, just CARVING :D

cant wait till tomorrow so i can go again.

by far the best bike i have ridden!!

i do have 1 issue i would like to bring up maybe somebody can tell me whats up.

seems to me that the valves are incorrectly set, dont want to use the "t" word, but, definately some rattling coming from there, accel and decel. also some vibration during accel from motor. last bike was a bmw boxer, so i know how important a good valve adjust and tb sync is to the perfomance, and when it was done right it was smooth. so i think the vibes are from those two things being a little off.

also i have read about some with a stall at idle when taking off, me too but i think that is more me just getting used to clutch, grabbs real early.

any comments would be apprieciated

thanks and a safe ride to all

I noticed my clutch engages much closer to the bar than my 03 did to. I stalled it coming out of the parking lot because I didn't expect it to start grabbing that soon. I has taken a while to get used to it. I asked the service guys about it, they didn't know. It is a hydraulic clutch, so there is no adjustment. I'm wondering if it's a change them made to accomodate the E model.

No big deal, just different.

These new '06s are really gr8; sure seems to be a significant improvement over the '03 I had umpty ump bikes ago. Think this one is going to be sticking around!

So far NO heat felt from the motor even in 80F temps the other night. On my '03 lotsa heat was radiated by that temp while moving on backroads: not good.

This bike's ride and handling, as set by factory, are very good and I haven't felt the need to touch anything. On my '03 I twiddled and tweaked constantly b4 finally getting to a tolerable ride/handling setting. No such problem on the new '06...yup, she seems to be a KEEPER! FUN! DFO :D :D
