Glad to report that I pulled the trigger on a new 2015ES last week. I loved my 08, but this one I believe is going to be really special. No need to post pics since everyone knows what they look like by now.

Planned farkles:

-gps mount for my Zumo 550 (any suggestions?...needs to be between bars near stem nut area)

-National Cycle V Stream mid-height gray tint windscreen (it's about 2 or 3 inches taller than stock)

-Auxillary lights

-3M reflective tape on rear of bags

-Hyperlights (or equiv) to increase rear visibility

-I will mount my Valentine 1 inside the faring and use my romote head (much smaller) on the "dash" somewhere

-Motivation faring sliders

-Canyon Case saddlebag guards

-Battery leads/fused distribution

-Air horn (mounted the last one under the seat...did great for years, still very loud and out of the weather)

Anyway, that's my plans for the farkles. Have a shop manual ordered through the dealership.

The invoice amount (I saw the invoice) was $14,715 (which included the freight which was under $400). Including taxes, tag, registration, etc., I was out the door for $15,800 for the ES model.

Called Gerald at D&H and the 48 month YES is still just $389. Have not pulled the trigger on that just yet....got time.

Looking forward to some happy miles ahead.

Congrats bro..... welcome to to Cool Color Collective !!

Or WynPro RamBone works great as well.

LEDRIDER offers up a discount for forum members - the LR4's are spectacular, with high regards for high output

Mounted mine like this

But there are other options like a special mirror mount for the FZ1 mirrors that are in the works....

Fred and WynPro worked out a nice option for that here

Lots of great things to add to the bike !!!

Don't forget to get the WynPro BigFoot

Congrats !!

Congrats Lowcountry Joe. That is a great price. I hope I can get close to it in the next few weeks.

Thanks Brit! The dealer shared the invoice and said he needed to make a thousand dollars above invoice if he could. I bought my 2008 from him and he is really a nice guy (ain't they all?). So, we went back and forth and at the end of the day, he made $760. He has a brick and mortar store, employees, and overhead, so I have no problem with that. We both were happy. He did want to sell me a YES for $690 (I chuckled). I told him I would buy a 48 month YES from him, but at nowhere near that price given I could get it much cheaper elsewhere. But I guess he had to try!

May I recommend frame sliders? Or Canyon Cages? Please put something on it to protect it if/when it falls over.

I went with the T-Rex frame sliders after the lazy thing fell on its side.

I will second the recommendation for the WynBone mount. It will work just fine with the riser blocks. If you go with the Heli-Bar Bridge it won't work.

Thanks Redfish. For now, I am going to go with the Motivation sliders. Had them on my previous FJR. I have ordered the Canyon Case rear bag guards. Not sure what I am going to do for a gps mount yet. Thanks for the suggestions.

Another suggestion, try some aftermarket brake and clutch levers. In black. The difference in the look of the entire control area changes with the blacked out controls. More importantly, the aftermarket levers offer better feel (for me anyway). If you like the darkness of the '15, you will love what the black levers do for it.

I will check out some black levers a littler later on and I agree, they would be slick. Any fitment/brand suggestions that are maybe adjustable?

If you insist on Motivation sliders, get the extended length. I too have the T-Rex and believe they provide better protection. That's my set up with Canyon Case bag guards. Since I do not ride at night, I installed Denali DM LED's on the fork reflector brackets. Those little babies are bright!

Good luck with the new ride. You got a smok'n good price!

+1 for the Techmount for the GPS...... photos from 2009 FJR (did the same setup for my 2014 ES).https://i1317.photobucket.com/albums/t630/Alleycat711/DSC04457.jpg

Good pics and thanks AlleyCat. That mount looks like it's pretty high quality, so I am leaning strongly toward it for my bike.

BTW...in the pics...your handlebars do not look like they are seated in the same forward/rear adjustment holes. Maybe it's just the angle of the photo, but it looks like the left side is much closer to the center and rotated toward you more than the right bar. Then again, you may have them this way for a reason, so this is just an observation on my part. Thanks again for the photos.

Pazzo Levers are the big bucks - but many here will suggest them....

I got some knockoffs off of fleabay from HongKong or somewhere out that way..... plenty happy with them...

Another Member had linked this site and they are the same I got from HK..... Looks and feel awesome...

The levers are all the same from 2004 - 2015, so your good to go..... 03 levers don't fit....

Appreciate the info Warp. Thank you.

Huge Congrats!!!
Being in SC I guess you'll actually get to rider her too!

Yes, usually we can ride most of the winter since we don't get any snow. All it takes is some good wind-bucking gear...and the heated grips are nice too! In fact, winter riding is my favorite since it gets so damn hot and humid here in the summer. There are actually weekend days when I don't ride in the summer because it's just too hot/humid! I feel for the guys up north with all that snow and icy weather. That blows.

Probably a bad angle for the pic.... all was normal for the bars. You will like the Techmount. It makes for a nice touch on the bike.
