Just got back from the EOM,had a great time. I have 3200 miles on the stock tires and they are gone. I'm trying to decide which tires to order, I have narrowed it down to either PR 2s or PR3s.

Love my Pirelli Angel GT.... lots of miles, great in the rain, sticks very well in the turns. No complaints on my part. I will keep using them.

I ran one set of the Angel GT's and my experience was less than stellar. Initial impressions were excellent but tire longevity was not as expected and ended out with a front end wiggle fairly early in their life. Maybe just one bad tire? I think quite a few people have liked them...

Then just flip a coin in that case.
Since you appear to favor Michelin, is there any reason to didn't put the PR 4 GT's in your final list?

Just curious if you know what tire pressure you were running.... front is 39 and rear is 42 for me.

40F and 42R. Checked regularly. Never had a steering wobble before on this bike in 125,000 miles. Went away right after I replaced the front tire.

Ross, I put on the Bridgestone T30s this year and got a season out of them. Granted, my mileage is only 6000 miles, but I really like the grip and turn-in. I get a bit more out of PR2, but they handle like crap over that last third of life, so for me, this was pretty good. If you ride up to 10K in a season, I might go with the T30 front and Michelin PR2 or PR4 in the rear.

I've run Pirelli Angel GT's, Avon Storm 2 Ultra's, Bridgestone 023GT's, PR2's. My favorites have been the 023GT's. I hope the T30's are as good. I didn't mind the PR2's but toward the end of life the damn things sounded like Dick Cepek Mud Country's going down the road.....

I wasn't the original poster here - just relaying my experience. Not sure what my next front tire will be but I am thinking I'm going back to the darkside for a season (long trip planned next year). (I usually do between 20,000 and 30,000 miles per season so typically two to three sets of tires per year.)

Concur AND the T30's have a $40 rebate card if you buy by tomorrow. My total cost for a set was $193! Tough to beat.

Nice find! I just scored a set of T30GT's for $221.46 from American Motorcycle Tire (free shipping), and already submitted my rebate. So the net deal is $182.46. My current Avons still have some life but that is a deal I couldn't pass up. Of course, today is the last day for this.....

I ran Metzlers Z6's for a long time, I liked them. Then spooned on a set of PR3's last April in a panic the night before heading to MotoGP because I found a couple of holes in my rear. I was going to try to make them last for the trip. Anyway, I like the way the PR3's handled, but not any better then the Metzlers. What I did notice was increased road noise because of the additional rain sipes, and they seemed a lot more "spongy" or "bouncy" on rough surfaces. (which is most roads these days) had to dial up the suspension to get rid of most of it, but it rode pretty stiff. I'll think I'll go back to Metzlers.

So I ordered my Bridgestone T30's from AMERICAN MOTORCYCLE TIRE on Monday. On Thursday they were on my doorstep. Very fast, free shipping. Checked the dates on the tires--WOW--the front tire was manufactured around mid-May, 2014, in Japan. Less than 5 months out of the mold in Japan and sitting now in Idaho--that is on FRESH TIRE. Too bad it will now sit until next spring....

I highly recommend this online dealer. Price is great and they give nice e-mail updates on shipping status, and free, very fast shipping.

I just bought a set of BS T30-GTs and mounted them Friday. I am coming from a set of Dunlop Road Smarts. I only have about 400 miles on the t30's so far, but initial impressions are they turn in better and provide a greater ability to hold a steady line. Oddly enough, I can feel more engine vibrations in the grips and pegs, but nothing i can't learn to live with. Overall, I am happy with the T30's and even more so now thanks to Spud and 900gc, thanks for the lead on the rebate!!

BTW, I purchased from JakeWilson.com $234.98 to my door, $194.98 after the rebate.

On mah 2nd set of T30s, got 'bout 6,265 outta the 1st set which is comparable to wut I wuz get'in outta PRIIs. Butt the T30s turn in much better, seem to have more grip, (Though PRIIs had plenty of grip.) and they do this thing where yer line tightens the more you lean. And they cost much less than PRIIs ta boot!

I hated PRIIIs cuz they turn in much slower, and have mor of a "vague" feel to 'em at the limit.

FJRs are the best value in motorcycling, 'n T30s are the best value fer tires.
