Hi all,

I flew to Huntsville today from Richmond (and boy are my arms tired!).

Blake from D&H Cycle picked me up and drove me the 40 minutes to the shop. Super-nice folks! There, I saw my bike for the first time:

More photos to come, but I had daylight to beat (and I lost) as I rode her up to Lookout Mountain for the evening. Tomorrow's jaunt is down to Dahlonega and back. Pics will occur.

You will not forget this moment for the rest of your life! Enjoy!! :))
Ha !! It will be the last time that everything on that bike was truly "clean." Tempting to just park it in the garage and stare at it so it doesn't get dirty... isn't it? And I'll be yer gonna do just that... stand there in the garage just staring at it.

And don't be like the meathead that attempted to remove the sticker from the gas tank on my bike with a razor blade. I'll always know exactly where that sticker WAS.

Anyway, pray for nice weather in March. We don't wanna see you have to cry.

Since I was privileged to ride one like that yesterday (behind SkooterG!) I can almost assure you he will NOT be just parking it in the garage. The overall goodness that is the FJR is pushed nearly to perfection with the addition of the electronic suspension. I don't recall being so overwhelmed by any motorcycle ever in my life. It helped that the sun was shining on that Red Color.

Super Sweet, both the fly n drive and the bike!

Enjoy and cherish the moment. Make a RR on your break-in and your journey back to Richmond :)

Congratulations! That new bike feeling, is one of the best feelings ever!

You spoke of being overwhelmed. I had that same feeling the day I was following SkooterG at Orlando last fall every time I twisted the throttle on that new VMAX. It will never be an FJR, but WHAT AN ENGINE...

Now that is how a fly and drive should work! Congrats on the new bike.

Are those lights the mini-leds from Justin?

Congrats on the new ride. Hopefully the roads to VA were clear of salt and winter crap. Did the bike have the much commented on flap in front of the rear tire? After cleaning the bike, you can get busy removing all that advertising stuff (front fender decal, gas tank decal, 1300 badges and bag reflectors). The bike will go faster and folks will ask you what make is that bike? You will then be spokesman for Yamaha!! Those LED's look good!! Can you hide the wiring a bit better?

Great idea on the RR--will do so once I get back.

I've been having too much fun to write new posts--a 200-mile day in brilliant 65-degree weather on Saturday and a jaunt around Chattanooga & Lookout Mountain today in almost 70-degree weather. Off to Cullman tomorrow for the initial service Tuesday morning, then to ATL for some work meetings, then home to RIC.

The lights are Denali D2 from Twisted Throttle, the top case is a Caribou case, the handguards are Barkbusters from TT, and the Powerlet is from, well, Powerlet. Mud flap was intact.
