Hi all,

It's been a while since my last post. It's been a while since I've gone out on a long ride too - work has been getting in the way. My last time out, my 6 year old nokia 6300 managed to escape from my tank bag while I was cruising down some back roads. So I wound up getting an iPhone 4 and have been messing around with the camera. It's pretty handy and beats lugging around my big DSLR.

Here are a few shots I took the past week. I'll be doing a 3 day trip with the wife this coming weekend and will have plenty of pics from that ride too. Until then, hope you like these.

Nik.

1. Since getting this iPhone,I've been messing with the camera quite a bit. Here's my son at a local bike showroom.

2. Front is really bald. Gotta get them changed for the ride this weekend.

3. This is the guy that's gonna change it. Very hardworking chap - only takes 3 days off a year.

4. He's gonna do my engine oil and oil filter as well.

8. Took the bike for a spin to scrub the new front PR2. This is the road up Genting Highlands

10. Also took my 15 yr old daughter for a quick ride to the KL International Airport. She likes to look at planes take off and land. We sat here at the end of the runway for a short while to view the planes.

Nic.

The Iphone takes nice pictures. I can see leaving the DSLR at home.

It takes up too much space.

As always, thanks for sharing Nik! I have to say I don't believe at all that the Iphone4 takes great pictures, I believe that only the one Iphone4 does that YOU happen to own!

Your picture taking AND post editing skills are awesome.

I was thinking the same thing.. any RR by nik I read!

Beautiful as always Nik.

Just wondering, what kind of levitation magic does your mechanic do to keep that front end in the air sans front wheel?

Thanks for the RR.

Mark

Hi guys. Thanks for the kind words. It's a lot of fun, this little camera. But doesn't allow me to do a lot of things that my dinosaur sized DSLR does. :)

How long did it take to get the tires/oil change? Looks like a cool roadside repair shop.
mferriter, the entire session lasted about 2.5 hours. It is a very busy shop - I think he could have done it in much less time but there were lots of other customers and they don't really have any system to track anything. Everything done on the road side. But they are honest, good and get the job done, and best of all, their prices are very reasonable.

Mark, the bike is propped on the red jack (partly obscured by the helmet). Looks like some voodoo magic, huh? :p

Your peg feelers reveal why your front tire was so worn on the sides
Nik, nice pics and story line per your typical good work.

Like Bugnatr observed, I do notice your front tire scrubbed on the sides and the center in great shape, you must not have anything long and flat in your area, an indication to me that your local riding area is lots and lots of curves. I am jealous.

Have fun with the new tires and do keep sending your great pics and ride reports to the Forum, your FJR Forum Cousins just lov'em!

Nice pics Nik, you have a great eye. For me, I still like the stuff you were doing with the DSLR. I vote you keep carrying it, find a perfect sized tank bag to make it all the easier.

GUNNY!

As always, your reports are informational and entertaining. You DO have an eye for what looks good in two dimensions. :clapping:

Nice pics! I think my Droid X takes decent shots too, for a cell phone.

Are there any openings for lab techs in your area? I wanna live near those roads!
