Had ordered a set of Michelin Pilot Roads but was notified today that they are back ordered for at least 2 weeks, probably longer. Instead I decided to order a set of Pilot Powers which were in stock based upon my experience with them on my CBR 600. I realize that they will have a much shorter service life but was wondering if anyone here has ever had a set on their FJR and if they cared to offer their opinion regarding responsiveness, stiction and life expectancy. Thanks in advance and enjoy the fall riding season wherever you are. B)

Have you tried SouthWest Moto sports for your Pilot Roads? Great prices, good stock and fast service.

I run a POWER on the front and a ROAD on the rear. Works Great! WIen I first got the bike, it had Pilot SPORTS on it. Went thru the rear in 1500 mi. Worked very well though! I like the current combo better!

I have had pilot roads on order since 8/31, the rear came in a few weeks ago but the front still has not been delivered and I have a trip scheduled next weekend (starting the 14th). When I placed my order I was told the pilot roads were not in stock but would be in within 5 days, the rear was but not the front. I e-mailed ride now.com and explained I am out of time, I can not cancel my trip, reservations have been made and friends have scheduled vacation time off, etc. and I need my front tire. If I had known this pilot road was on back order and had been told that they did not know when it would come in then I would have ordered a set of Avons........stay with me here.........I'm fixing to make a point........Ride now just called me and said since they cant fill my order on my front tire in time for my trip that they would send me a new Michelin pilot power 2CT. They just got them in yesterday and it is Michelin's newest tire. It is a two compound tire. The center is a harder rubber and the sides are softer. So theoretically you get the long distance wear for slab riding and very good grip for the twisties. The tire is 10.00 more than the pilot road but since I was in a bind he would give it to me for the same price and since he had it in stock he would ship it today. Guess I'll be the first w/this new tire. Hope it is as good as I was led to believe. Sounds like it has potential--good concept if it works

I picked up a set of Pilot Roads yesterday for $218.00. Found them on Ebay for the FJR. Best price anywhere and plenty in stock (23 sets) if I remember correctly. The place even let me drive over to Lake City FL and pick them up. Check Ebay!!!

Thanks to all for the feedback. Had the Pilot Powers installed today and the weather was beautiful so I took the FJR for a spin over to Deals Gap, aka The Dragon. Traffic was pretty light and the leaves are starting to show some color. I was really impressed with the difference between the Michelins and the stock Bridgestones. In numerous turns the footpeg feelers were touching down and the bike still felt very planted and relaxed unlike when ridden with the stock tires. With the stock tires braking in a turn often resulted in the bike wanting to stand up but with the Michelins this was minimal. Still would have preferred the Pilot Roads if they were available but I was really impressed with the grip and feel of the Pilot Powers. Hope you are able to get out and ride this weekend. :D
