Planning a trip to AR in late May looking for some local info on where I can lodge 8 people. Would like to get a cabin if it's the right price. Have some ideas on routes but if you got something let me know. Looking at staying in the Harrison area.

Let me know guys. Need to get something reserved soon.

Thanks,

Scoobs

The place I really like and highly recommend is "The Cliff House INN https://cliffhouseinnar.com/ From Harrison, go south on hiway 7 to Jasper about 20 miles, then continue another 3-4- miles south of Jasper on hiway 7. Cliff House is on the left. This is not a 5 star hotel, very rustic, but clean, has incredible views of Arkansas Grand Canyon. If you want night time activities, this aint the place, Jasper rolls up at dark. If coyotes howling most of the night bother you, this aint the place.

Past that, you'll be hard pressed to get any closer to center of the best ridin in Arkansas, than here!

The above route is the best 500 miles of twisty ridin in Arkansas, and it goes right through Jasper!

For a rocking good time check out the SFO forum under FJR Meetings on this board. This event will be held in Eureka Springs Arkansas, May 13th through 16th, theres plenty of night life at this one, heck we even have an "ODOT"

+1 on this recommendation. :yahoo:

If you want road recommendations...look at the TBA route that fjrrider put together last October in the midwest section of the board. All those roads are twisties...just pick one and go. :clapping:

I've been trying to talk my wife into a ride down to Fayetteville this spring, we'd probably be aiming for Memorial day weekend (don't have enough time off from work!) We know some peeps we'd probably stay with (camp in the yard if nothing else, something that is becoming a bit of a memorial day tradition).

How long are you planning on going down there?

15th thru the 23rd. We are staying near "the hub" just north of Jasper. We have a couple or routes planed so far. One goes south on 23 goes west to the Boston Mt Byway up to Eureka Springs then back to Jasper area on 16. Anything good over by Bull Shoals?? Anyone??

Its all good up there, cross the ferry (Bull Shoals) into MO. on 125 go east on 160 crossing Bull Shoals at Theodosia, south on 5 into Mt Home. Go do Push Mtn (341) 6, 7 or 12 times, that ought to fix ya up for a while!

Depending upon your interest in 'twisty-severity'?, U.S. 160 across Southern MO can be a really nice FJR ride -- full of banked sweepers, linked one-after-another, for about 100 miles East of the N-S Hwy 65 area. The little wide-spot-in-the-road of Walnut Shade has about a 270* turn...!

OTOH, pieces of road like AR 74 from Jasper to Ponca can really make the FJR rider 'sit-up-and-take-notice'...!

Some of Arkansas's back roads really favor the sport-bike rider, IMO. Not-to-say an experienced FJR pilot can't do them justice...? I just tend to think: "Depends upon your interest in 'twisty-severity'...?" ;)

Lots of good roads in AR... :)
