I've got the relay arm off the bike. You know what that means, exhaust and center stand is off.
I'm trying to figure out if I need new bearings or not. I don't want to order new bearings just to find out that ones I have are as good as they get. I may just be anal and the play I felt could be normal.
All I need is for some of you to lean over the back of the bike while its on the center stand, grab the top of the rear wheel and lift. Just let me know if you have a little up-down play or not.
If there is anyone with no play I'll order the bearings, but if eveyone has some up down play then I can start putting it back together.
Won't someone help me out? Please?
P.S.
The bearings look and feel great off the bike, but I can twist the sleeve(inner race?) running through center of the needle bearings along its long axis and get what I personally think is too much angular movement. When I push and pull in the same motion that it would naturally make while in use there is no play. And these are the end bearnings with the single cage I'm talking about not the center ones the dog bones connect to.
One last bit of refference. My bearings were all clean, shiny, and had absolutely no grease at all. Just what little assembly lube they used at athe factory.
