Frankly, I don't get the black. Boring. At least on this bike with a limited amount of painted panels and all the hardware showing. If a bike has a full, or half fairing, then sure, black can look good.

BLUE!

Black for me, because Skooty picked Blue. Addition of the Super Tenere 1200Z will result in my having to thin my herd of bikes. Ingrid, my BMW R1150RT will have to leave. I still do not view this as a very capable dual sport, just a great road bike that can tackle the occassional hard packed dirt and gravel roads, or pot holed Mexico/Guatemala and Yukon 2-laners. Should be OK for Alaska Haul Road!

Blue

Countless miles of NF dirt and gravel roads, plenty of local power line cuts and jeep trails, my 2012 end of the world trip to Alaska. Hopefully a trip to ole Mexico in there somewhere as well.

Haven't voted yet, since I haven't put my money down yet, but it'll be blue. I've got a black XX, my second one. Black is purty when it's clean, but it's gotta be the worst color to try to keep looking nice, especially on a bike that will spend lots of time getting really dusty.

canyonman, please put me down as your designated wingman for Alaska in 2012. My motorcycle trip dance card is now wide open for 2012, nothing planned but an Organized Tour of Morocco and Southern Spain with Edelweiss Bike Tour. But I don't have to do any advance planning for Africa and Andalusia, I just hand EBT a check and they prior arrange everything to the gnat's ass for me.

And as far as Mexico goes, I will be your Huckleberry. When you want to ride South, I am ready to go with you. Huckleberry in Arizona means your backup in a gun fight, Doc Holliday was Wyatt Earp's Huckleberry at the OK Corral down in Tombstone.

I've never been to Mexico and there is no way I would go without a "guide". Hopefully the Alaska thing will come together as well but with todays economy who can tell. You know Don, your average ho hum bike trips would be anyone elses "trip of a life time" you are blessed my friend. lucky man!!!
