Well, 37+ years of legally riding on pavement and had my second mishap. (First was 1989) That time of the morning where the freeway is packed but not quite enough to slow the traffic. 0450. Big rig started a seven vehicle accident that included my 2003 FJR with 70k miles as vehicle number eight. With cars everywhere in front and fearing more the cars behind, I didn't get slowed enough to avoid the mele. The important part is walking away of course. A bit worse for wear and hitting the ibuprofen still after a month but not complaining.

Found an '05 FJR ABS with 19k miles and started moving some farkles over from the '03. Could have gotten a newer model but this one felt good and the price was right. Still waiting on the police report to start the insurance recovery stuff. Not fun.

I forgot how fun it is to have a "new" bike to mod as I see fit. The previous owner kept this thing is stock all the way. Going to go through all the maintenance stuff myself to make sure everything is right.

While I don't post often, this board has been a lot of help for me and my bike. Tech, tips, rants, and humor.

Thanks all!

Sounds like your '03 was totaled. That's a sad thought! They made some nice changes from '03 to '04 like integraged turn signals and bigger brakes, and the '05 had a HUGE change from the '04...blue paint!

Best wishes for the new set of wheels. Hope you get many, many miles of enjoyment from it. I too, don't post often but this forum has been an absolutely wonderful source of info, advice, humor and comradery.

Man!! Big FJR's story is very close to mine. January I went down in a hard turn to fast on MY 03 with 75K on the clock, February found a 05 with 16100 miles on it, and spent the rest of the February and the part of March transferring farkels from 03 to 05. 03 needs plastic but little else, but I love this 05 and will most likely sell the 03. The guy I bought the 05 from took great care of it, hell it looked brand new! 20+K miles of smiles and still smiling.
