My wife and I are ready for an upgrade from tent camping.

Which pop-up do you guys/gals use, or have used?

What do you recommend?

Thanks!

For the price of a nice pop up you can buy a small hard side trailer. I tried the pop up route and didn't like the fact that we had to load everything into the truck, then drive, then unload it into the trailer, back into the truck when we left and then into the house.

With a trailer, most everything just stays in there.

Try https://www.rv.net/index.cfm most everything you'd want to know is in there.

We have the Coleman Mesa (by Fleetwood).

Almost everything fits either in the box, or in the trailer itself as there is quite a bit of floor space when everything is stowed for traveling.

If I could choose again I probably should have gone with the Utah or Bayside

Nevertheless, the Mesa has served us well since 2003 and offers LOTS of family entertainment.

Suggested items to consider during purchase:

Dual Propane bottles

A/C

If your buying new, have the dealer throw in a tow package

Some needed items not usually disclosed include:

Bal Wheel leveler.

Levels

10 pack of levelers

Bucket toilet with cat litter in small glad bags

As a note:

The Pop up trailer allows me to store it in the garage and takes up minimal space. Ironically, the Fleetwoods had the best matresses for sleeping (as per the wife).

Yep the Fleetwood is a nice little unit. I liked the convenience of being able to tow it with a minivan or small car, easy storage, dryer and warmer than a tent, yet still able to hear nature without the buffer of insulated walls... I know I'm gonna pay for that last quote

Dual propane and a ******* are nice additions. A slide out room is also a pretty nice option. Twin sinks, roof top air, for around a hundred bucks you can add two inch "memory" foam to the mattress making them almost as nice as your "home" bed. Plenty of options... not all that expensive.
