Hi Scott,

Do you just need a place to stay? I only live about an hour from Port Dover. You can stay at our place. Or are you looking for a vacation spot?

Looking for a spot to stay during the Port Dover Rally (May 12-14). Looks like a biggie next year and it would make a good ride out there and back. How's the rent at the Mabee B&B? :)

Port Dover is a day ride for me but I used to work at Nanticoke and have friends & relatives in the area and can stay for free :biggrinsmiley:

I'll buy you a beer at the Erie Beach while I gorge on perch & deep fried celery bread. :fan_1:

Not too many twisties in the area but I know of a few but there is some decent dirtbiking in the area. I should know since I helped build most of the trails in Turkey Point & St Williams back in the 70's. Damn, typing that suddenly made me feel old.

Sounds like we should arrange a group to ride down to Dover on the 13th. I've never actually been (to many Harleys....haha) but it would be fun in a group of FJR's.

I was gonna suggest my dear departed dads SOB. I mean SO.

But I like you and frankly, she'd eat you alive. Cast Iron Hell *****.

As for Dover. It was good in the early 90's. Now its just f'n stupidity.

It's just over an hour from me..... Dover and area is so much more enjoyable when nobody's there, but you have to do the crazy thing at least once. Been there, avoid it like the plague now, don't see the attraction..... and a new reason... I don't want to run into Bungie's out-laws!!

I'm not into the big rally scene but it sounds like a good oppertunity for me to get some miles on and scratch it from my bucket list. I've never even attended the Wharf Rat Rally in my home province but Port Dover is just one of those things I would like to say "Been there bought the T-shirt". I don't plan to spend any amount of time there.

I'll join ya Scott just to kep you company. Also the Mabee BnB is the best! Hint hint Mike.

Rob

I've been there several times. It's only an hour away from me, so if the weather is good and I have nothing better to do I'll go down for a couple hours. Lots of beer, leather, music, 50,000 cruisers, and sometimes topless chicks. There is also a smattering of all other bikes as well. Your chances of getting hard cover accommodation is fairly slim, camping can be had more easily.

The Mabee B&B will be open that weekend with a fully stocked bar. Open invite to anyone that needs a place to crash. Not alot of beds but we have lots of floor space/couch space/deck space or back yard if it comes to that.

It would be fun to show up there in the "Sea of Harleys" with a bunch of us on FJR's.

Fun to cross off the bucket list, but not really fun for the FJR crowd. Roads to and from are boring. But I do know some "secret" roads within a hours drive that are entertaining.

So Scotty, ya got a place to stay.

Mike

Hell I guess I'd better toss a wrench into the works and announce my participation also.

I don't wanna spend a whole lotta time there, but it's something I think I should witness.

:jester:

Scot-tee .... .don't forget the Maine 400 and the Clam Chowda Ride.

I've a friend going to Cuba in April but don't know if I trust her to get the Cohibas. I'll work on it :D

I use to live about an hour outside of Dover myself. I've got to agree with the other's, If yo've never been you should go at least once to to see women over 50 going topless ! Not that there is anything wrong with that ! Have fun and I might be able to join you guys for this one.

Well crap. I never get to go anywhere either. Whats up with that?!

I guess you twisted my arm hard enough for me to endure that piratefest once again. I can wrangle up a place to stay near Guelph. Besides, I can leave a flaming bag of **** on my dads cast iron hell ***** SO's door while I'm there. I figure with enough liquid encouragement, I can get you ALL do **** in the bag. Hell, I know one or two of you who'll do it without the bribing.

Here.. wanna see my impression of some old bored wife of some HD riding dentist flashing you?

<flips up just the bottom of his tshirt>

No worry about the accomadations, Mike will have room for everyone but there wil only be two meals provided. He also mentioned that he is able to supply free beer to everyone.

This should be a great event.
