Just curious if there are any 12VDC power points on the '05 operating under the assumption they (it) will be the same place on the '06. My BMW's use the PowerLet receptacles, wonder what Yamaha uses?

Thanks in advance. Presume with all of the winter/cold weather riding some of you are using Gerbings and picking up power you either installed or was factory installed.

None on any of the 03-05 models. They are a popular owner addition (farkle). 06 will have one in the storage compartment, of the stupid places.

Think there will be a hole in the lid or on the side so you can have a cord dangling out of there, or do we have to leave the lid open?

I have left the lid open many times during a ride. The GB makes a nice cup holder. I always have to smash the cup down over the top of my registration, earplugs, space cords, keys, cell phone, etc. Now we're going to have even less space for stuff?

Wonder how long it will take to remove the outlet from the GB and relocate it?

I haven't seen inside the 06 GB, but couldn't you drill a small hole on the inside

of the GB and have a cord coming out towards the tank and up ?

For a cup holder, you could use the RoadRunner.

I only use water bottles. No likey coffee....bleh.

The only use I found for the GB is to warm up my PoP Tarts. Makes a good on the road snack. It's the perfect size to fit 2 pouches. After a few hours (150 miles or so) pull over and enjoy!! :D

I like the S'mores the best. ;) Wash 'em down w/ a Pepsi and I'm good to go.

MMM, PoP Tarts and Pepsi the LDR's best friends.

$70 or $80 for a cup holder?

What is it about motorcycling that makes us crazy? Of course, at going rates, that's only about a gallon of Starbucks coffee, so perhaps an $80 cupholder is perfectly logical. :bleh:

Cheers,

Jim

You get more miles per dollar out of sport touring than any other motor sport (ie. boating, flying, off-road, etc.). It may be expensive, but still a bargain comparatively. Unless you live on the lake or have an approved/open riding area off your back porch. I just wish my wife understood this concept! :)
