I installed a Powerlet receptical on my 04 FJR several years ago. I put in the suggested location and it worked great. The 04 is gone and I now have an 08. I've noticed that the fuse boxes have been moved next to the battery in the location where I put it on my 04. Has Powerlet made a new setup for the Gen II FJR or will the old one still work? I don't see anything on their website about it. Need some input from some riders who have mounted one on a Gen II FJR. I tried calling Powerlet today and they aren't answering. Any info would be much appreciated.

I have the dual outlet on my 04 and just put a kit on a Gen II, (2006). The new kit has TWO fuses/fused lines (not one) and instead of a square plate for the outlets (that bolt under the rear peg bracket), the new one has a plate that bolts to the seat release lock mechanism... They also include a rubber boot for the outlet and a plastic end for the wires to attach to the outlet itself. (The boot works really well and was needed). The rest, as I recall is the same... The old kit (wiring) should fit, the actual plate, I don't know, as we didn't use it...

I don't know that I need a double plate, but will keep it in mind. I guess I'm going to have to call powerlet tomorrow and talk to them.

I installed the newest model Powerlet for the "06-"08's. It goes on the left side instead of the dash right.

I'm not sure this is what I'm looking for. The setup I put on my 04 had a short cylidrical plug and a female receptical that mounted on the right panel by the battery. I don't see that receptical in any of these pictures on the premier cycle website. Kurt, do you have a link for the one you puchased?

It is at the bottom of the page for all the front panel FJR stuff. They don't have a proper picture on the website page, but at least the instructions are correct. dhalen32 found a picture though.

Below is Jeff's initial post on his business, Bike Effects dot Com. It looks like FJR1300 is the coupon code if you order on line. If you call him to order just mention that you are a forum member.

Dave

Hi all! I'm BikeEffects on this and the EZ Board forum. I am an FJR1300 owner and enthusiast. I also own Bike Effects, a motorcycle accessory company. I would like to extend a permanent offer to the members of this forum.

Bike Effects is pleased to announce a 10% discount to Forum members on purchases of $50.00 or more. This discount applies to product totals on our Web site. It applies to all products and can be combined with our Monthly sales. Here is how it works. During the checkout phase of an online purchase, there is a box where you can place a Discount Code or Coupon Number. Your Coupon is "FJR1300". The discount will be figured automatically. That is all there is to it. Telephone orders also apply. Just mention that you are a Forum member here. Please take care to put in the discount code as I can not apply the discount retroactively once the order is placed.

I hope that the Mods here can make this a sticky so that it does not drop off the radar for future members.

Please click the link in my signature. On my Products page, please take a look at the Motorcycle Showcase and note that the FJR1300 is one of the featured bikes there. If you go there, you will see all of the products that I carry that are for the FJR1300. Feel free to come in and browse around.

I connected right to the battery and used an in-line fuse-I want unswitched power available so I can run a tire pump (or whatever) even with the bike off.

I put mine on the right side panel just south of where the battery resides. There is just enuogh room for it to hang down between the battery and a brace. (I think its a brace anyway).

Sounds like what I did on my 04. The problem now is, I have an 08 and the powerlet set up is for the left side on the GenII's.

Not sure I want to do that yet.

What year bike do you have? The 06-08 have fuse boxes right behind the battery and just below the panel. Doesn't look like powerlet receptical will fit there.
