PR 3's

On Sunday, Extrememarine came over and we changed the tires on our bikes.

I replaced the PR3s after putting 17,930 miles on them. After looking at the tread depth on the PR3s, Wayne and I both estimated that the tires would have probably lasted over 20,000 miles but since I'll be doing another cross-country trip in three weeks, it just made sense to install a new set of PR3s now.

As I mentioned in post #30, I did not balance the tires and let the Ride-On Tire Sealant balance the tires for me. As advertised, the Ride-On Tire Sealant easily washed out of the tires with a garden hose and any that got on the rim while I was dismounting the tire was easily wiped off with a rag.

Good Information. I have about 14K on PR2's installed on July 2010. I was curious which to get, but now I think I'll go with PR3's. I still have some mileage left on the PR2's, and getting almost 15K on a set I had serious thoughts about not getting another set.

Just replaced my PR3s at 9400miles, what is a worn out tire? Still had tread left, couple thousand miles by others estimates, but the feeling I like was gone, it is a gradual happening. Bike had a raspy suspension feeling riding, not the soft grabby feeling I have regained with the new PR3s.By my standards the 3s lasted about 1000k more than the 2s. Would recommend either to anyone. Bye the bye I run factory recommended pressures.
