I am sorry your Mom is hurting, getting old is tough. I am very pleased to hear that you are caring for her. All too often we neglect and forget the debt we owe our parents. Please do what you can to remind her not to give up.

I will pray for your Mom.

You can tell a great deal about a man by how he treats his parents. "Honor thy father and thy mother" is still true, and it's not just for kids. We all learned something about you today. I continue to pray for your mom. Any word back from the surgeon yet?

Went to the Ortho today and he said she shattered the BALL of the Humerous bone where it connects to the shoulder in about 3 places, ouch!!!

He said surgery is not an option at her age so it just has to heal on it's own.

He said she'll have limited range when it does heal (I figured that) and it will take months at her age where a younger person takes 4 to 6 weeks on average.

Have to take her for more X-rays next week and another ortho visit.

Thanks again folks.

Surgery not an option: They told mom the same thing several years ago. Her and I were just talking about the situation concerning your mom. I told her about it yesterday and asked her to pray about it too. Just now, she was saying, "When you're too old, they won't take a chance... at least that's what they said to me. Unless of course, it's a life and death emergency. No doctors will do it. Unless the name is Doctor House." Those were her actual words, I'm typing while she's talking, though she has no idea I'm quoting her here.

--Anyway, even though the doctors won't operate, maybe just maybe she'll be able to get through this without too much discomfort and her ability to heal might surprise everybody. To that end I'll be praying, and let's all hope so.

The strength of the human spirit is an amazing thing and miraculous things can happen from that.
