Very cool. Excellent animation job!

That's not animation - it's the real thing. They did have to splice the two takes of the entire sequence together as there was a minor issue with the studio setup and how it had to be shot, but the entire sequence from beginnig to end really happened - multiple times.

I did a bit of goggling also and there is apparently some controversy about whether there is a splice or not - some sources say it was spliced because the stuido wasn't long enough:

Whether it was one take or two, still everything happened and it's impressive as hell.

I stand corrected - two takes, spliced together at about the 1 min mark, 606 takes total. Ouch

As markjenn says, one take or two, its still impressive as hell.
