A Saturday ride for BBQ sounds like a great idea! How can you argue with a $6 admission, which includes a t-shirt?!? The ride up 89 through Yarnell is sweet, too. The high on Saturday in Prescott is only forecast to be 84. Seems pretty hard to argue with to me. Where and when do you want to meet? I'm in the SW valley.

How about 9:30am at Quiktrip, 11420 W Bell Rd, Surprise, AZ? (Loop 101 to W. Bell then about 4.5 miles to Quiktrip) Gates open at 10:30am. That should put us there around 11am. Pig out begins about 5 minutes after we arrive.

buf2phx and Badcat: You are correct, normally I would be all over a BBQ ride like this; this is right up a Los Robustos Alley!!

But, it's 25th Bavarian Mountain Weekend Rally in Sipapu, New Mexico put on by the Land of Enchantment BMW Riders Club.

I've not missed this rally for the last 20 years and I've taken Seth with me since he was a toddler in the Harley-D's sidecar.

He and I'll be riding our BMW R1150RT to NM as soon as he gets out of school tomorrow. Wish I could go with you 2 though!

Had a fun day heading up to Prescott for BBQ. Took the back roads up thru Wickenburg, Congress, Yarnell and into Prescott. Traffic was light so we made "good time". The BBQ festival was a busy place. Lots of good food to sample. The return trip took us thru Skull Valley toward Bagdad and then back to Wickenburg. The weather threatened but all we got was a sprinkle. Thanks John and Mike for a fun day. Pictures here.

A good time was had by all! Got to sample some cool new roads on the ride back. Though I did get passed twice in the twisties by a guy who appears to be old enough to be my dad. The BBQ was very tasty. I'm definitely in for the 2nd annual festival,if there is one. Though I think I'd plan for a later arrival so we can get some brisket. Burk, I think you need to post the "pirate" pic directly on the forum. It was great meeting you guys. Let me know when the next ride is gonna happen.
