I was thinking of making a pressure bleeder from a garden sprayer, when I found Motive Products sells a small one for $40 that's better & cheaper than anything I could build. So I'm considering buying one.

They sell a "Late Model Suzuki and Yamaha Adapter" that supposedly fits an impressive number of bikes, including the FJR. However, they don't show a picture and I call shenanigans on that list. I've emailed them and used the "customer question" form asking for a pic and gotten no answer in a week.

Anybody know anything about this adapter? If it's bogus, I'm thinking I could buy extra lids and put the 1/4" NPT fitting on them, because the bleeder itself seems to be pretty decent.

Edit: I used a pressure bleeder on a friend's car, and it's a hell of a lot better than the vacuum method I've been using.

2nd edit: Pressure, not power.

I called them a year ago, since I own a Motiv bleeder for cars, and the adaptor would be cool.

They hadn't created one yet, at least a year ago. They said if I sent in my reservoir cap they would make one out of it (I was going to send in a spare), but they never got back to me despite repeated efforts.

Hope you can fare better, let me know if you do.

Is it possible to pressure bleed thru the caliper?
Yeah, but then you'd need a brake-fluid-proof pump or something to deal with a large quantity of fluid coming into the master cylinder. Plus if the little deflector dingle is missing in the bottom of the m/c, you'll get a nice little 10" fountain of brake fluid. You can drop a large bolt or something in there to block that, though. I've never found an AC powered pump that wasn't in the "absolutely ginormous" category, though.

Even bleeding by hand I drop a strait edge razor blade into the m/c to cover the bleed hole and stop fountains. I also turkey baster all fluid from them, clean with a lint free cloth, rinse and turkey baste that out, then have my helper keep it full as I pump the brakes. Probably a little too much for some but in brakes, cleanliness is what you are striving for. Besides I buy the larger bottles of Dot 4 and since once open it is not a keeper, who cares how much you use?

Actually, I found all my turkey basters crazed and shattered after being exposed to brake fluid. I use one of the EZ-bleed syringes to pull the nasty stuff out. Since I don't have a helper, I use a Vacula refiller bottle that clamps to the m/c and has a shutoff plus a level adjust, and this replaces a home-made rig. I use a clean bolt (kept in a baggie) because it's easy to pluck out afterwards.

I think brake fluid is one of the nastiest things on earth. I hate the smell of it, and I hate the feeling on my hands, so I like to get the brake chores done as fast as possible. But that's just me!

I ordered the Motive Products 2qt just-the-bleeder and the lids for the front & rear of both the FJR & the SV. I found fittings and o-rings at Lowe's. We'll see how it all works out.

Got a pic of the adapter from Motive Products customer service today:
