Wow, the prices keep going down. I think it is because all the 06 get dumped on the market at one time...

Damn, you got me sidetracked looking at ebay now! Man, I gotta get some work done!

I think you're right about the '06 coming out. The prices seem in line though (give a few hundred) with what they were over the past 6 months I guess. Some wacked out prices to be sure though. And what's a "top tank" anyway??? Nimrod - Kidding, I know what they mean.

A nice 04 with 13,000 just sold for $6995 only one bid. I think the guy got a great deal... smitty

That IS a great deal, makes me envious with this insurance money burning a hole in my bank account. Too bad that moolah has to go somewheres else.

Have you guys checked out Kelley Blue Book or NADA guides? For my area they were showing $10,000 more or less for a 2005 non-ABS FJR with 8000 miles, helped me get top-dollar for my settlement. If the older FJR's are really selling for that much less, where do the guides get their prices?

I watched them pretty close for a couple of months before I sold the '04 and the market looked pretty soft. Some good bikes with no bids. Then one would sell pretty high every once in a while.

Thought maybe it was summer time blues with the market picking up in the fall, but I'm not too sure. Seems like location has a lot to do with it too.

By the way, I sold my last 4 bikes through owner's forums like this one, and only 1 on ebay.

Right now it is too effin hot no one is looking to buy a bike, Wait a couple of months and the demand will be back.

Alot of what the auction goes for depends on location also. If the bidder is close to the seller then more $$$ is offered obviously.

Price of used FJR's..in the gutter, Glad I am keeping mine

I had to laugh at the topic title. "Glad you're keeping yours.... for a month or two, anyway... :p :D

Matt, you play nice... I will ride over there and let you put my cruise on... :assassin:

I'll come over an install your cruise if you come over and change my tires... about 15 times.... :p

location does have a lot to do with it. All the good priced ones are waaaaay back east. All the used FJR's I've found around here are much more expensive. (around here meaning in the western states)

The whole market for anything except back to school is soft right now. All money is feeding to the kids. Spring would be a better time to sell a bike or boat as the buyer would see a longer season to use there investment.

Also, if you think about the hype for the model changes on the 06, that in itself de-values Version 1.

I've bought a ton of bikes, both new and used, at all times of the year. March/April are typically the hottest months to sell a bike, August is the worst becuase there is a glut of folks wanting to unload before the season turns as well as a lot of demand for money to make tuition. Things usually firm up in Sept as the supply dries up as folks trying to sell in August take their bikes off the market when then realize that the impulse purchase they made in April isn't going to bring anything like they were expecting.

I see nothing unusual about the FJR depreciation curve at all - it's right in line with virtually all the Japanese bikes.

I bought an "04 FJR in St. Petersburg, FL about three weeks ago. Paid $8400 and it had 12600 mi on it. Compared to an out the door price at dealer for $15,032.00 the savings are considerable. I feel I got a good deal. The used ones are still hard to find close to any location of the buyer .

Was looking at the zx14 kawie and ask the finance gail whats the book price on a 2005 fjr $10,000 without my mods .

No '03s listed. Can you say "Priceless, vintage (and faster)?"

:yahoo:

No desire to sell mine - ever. I'll let my widow take care of that - somday...
