I looked all over the freeking place. If I have to sort through 1 more NEPRT to find an average price of yamalube by the gallon....

I just want to know what a gallon of yamalube should cost. I paid 22.00 for a freeking gallon. I'm thinking about returning it and going to pick up an alternative. I'm not starting another oil thread, I just want to know how bad Yamaha of Louisville is ripping me off?

:derisive: :)

Look at all those smiles, I'M HAPPY... FREEEKING HAPPY, now someone please just answer the F'ing questions before I have a coronary!!!!

Hey, you should know the drill by now. Call up U Motors and ask Mike what he would charge. You now have your baseline for the best price that 4 quarts of Yamalube will cost. I don't think you want to buy the oil from him as shipping would most likely cancel out most savings however. Also, you will need 5 quarts for an oil change as the FJR generally takes 4 and a third quarts generally.

Here's a golden tip: Go to Wallyworld and get the Rotella T 15W-40 for under $10 a gallon.

Thats the plan. Screw $30 just for oil! Now I just need to go in with a few guys in Louisville to bulk order some filters and crush washers.

Either that or I order the purolators and send them to Garauld for powdercoating.... (sarcasm intended)

Count me in on a bulk order of crush washers... I'll meet you half way for a soda or something ;)

I could use a dozen or so myself. LMK.

ST7317 Super Tech oil filters at WallyWorld, a little over 2 bucks, painted Yamaha Black. Buy them when you pick up your Rotella T.

I bought a gallon and a quart $28.20 yahaha of Louisville. Keith lets see what we find and buy a couple cases of gallons or switch brands.

i got the delvac 15W40 from auto zone or whatever for nine dollars. Filter was five or six dollars, cant remember purolator pure one. I also skipped the crush washers and went directly for the copper washers also from autozone 1/2" size M14. I got three one for the oil drain plug and two for the final drive fluid. Works great and wont have to replace them for a while if at all.

Xactly, the Purolator is a great filter and there are several types of crush washers available for less than 50 cents a pop. We AIN'T drivin' a frickin' space shuttle.

I think I'm going to go with Charlie Hoss' reccomendation

I would like to order a bunch of crush washer from U motors or FJR goodies.

You're lucky at $22: I just paid $28 at my stealership. If Yamaha is bottling whale jizz for final drive oil, I hate to think how the Yammie engineers are supplementing the 20-40 to justify that price.

This old man forgot his reading glasses at home, just signed the credit card slip at Yamaha of Laredo (Texas)

1 gallon Yamalube, $25.93, 1 quart Yamalube, $4.87, K&N filter $14.01 and NKG plugs $5.63 each.

Quart price if you buy the gallon jug $6.48, stupid me.

Next time it's Wallyworld or Autozone

If you want to use motorcycle oil you can buy the Kawachem 20w-50 for some less. Jerold at D&H Cycle sold me this oil when I got my FJR. A gallon jug is just the right amount for the FJR.

Stoopid me but please refresh. We spend how much for the machine & how much for the gear & how much for the xtra's and we worry about a $5/gal difference on the oil? If you ride 20K/year and change it every 2K, that's a $50 difference....

If you spend and extra 10 minutes each way, or so and you make $50G/yr, that's @ $8.50 each time. Double if you get $100k, etc.

Ya'll are a lot smarter than me in matters FJR and otherwize, but I 'jus don't get this one...

I understand principles, etc, but I have learned that my time is more valuable than money, and is best spent ridin'...

What's not to get?

Rotella or Delvac 15W-40 at Walmart for under $9 a gallon. Better oil than the Yamalube (my opinion), easier to get, and in more easily handled sized containers.

Easy, no?
