Hey guys I'm currently looking for my new FJR. I was at first, looking at used bikes, but I found a few prices on new bikes that caught my eye. First is a 2010 silver at a local dealership for $13250.00 OTD w/o tax. The second is a 2009 in Reno NV. Its a standard trans. black and, about 800mi from home for $12,600.00 OTD w/o tax. Plus $300.00 to fly n' ride. Plus I like black more then silver. So are these good prices, or have you folks gotten better deals?

Too much for either one!!!!!!! :lmaosmiley:

ok what would be a good deal for a new 09 or 2010? I'm in the process of getting several dealerships to bid against each other for my business. :assassin:

thanks

The price on the 2010 is better than most I've seen. I just got a new 2010 for less than 13K OTD but the dealer was trying to move it because he had two 2010 models. They had right at MSRP on the second one even two weeks later. Don't know about the '09 but I'm surprised there is a new '09 left. I would have purchased a '09 but couldn't find one within a 1000 mile search from my location.

Good Luck!

thanks ehc0720. I am primarily looking at used bikes since the depreciation on a new bike seems to be around $2000.00 as soon as you ride it off the lot. However if I can get a smokin deal on a new FJR, I might be swayed into buying new. I got a dealer to tell me thier cost of a 2010 is $12,800 without rebates. While I don't know if the numbers are true or not it gives me a new price to shoot for.

Finding the dealers true cost is always a challenge. There are dealers advertising new '10s for $12,500 or so around the country. As long as one is careful and doesn't get caught with a bunch of BS dealer adds, these prices are rock bottom.

If your local dealer will come in at $12,800, you're doing pretty darn well. I'd jump on it!

Good luck with the purchase, you won't be disappointed.

Thanks for the advice Escapefjrist. I make sure that when I call for prices I get the OTD price. I hate it when they add a $200.00 doc fee, a $400 assembly fee, a $300.00 bonus fee, and a $50 optional vasoline fee. I tell them "Fine, just discount the sales price for whatever fees you want, and keep the vasoline for the next guy.".

My 2 cents....Bought an 09 in GA for 11,800 with less than 5k miles but had 2500 of ups included and the remainder of the YES wnty left. :yahoo:

I have no Idea where whitewater is, so I don't know if you are anywhere close to the Dallas, Texas area. When I was over at the dealership I do buisness with, a few weeks ago, I was talking with the manager and they had what I assumed was a 2010 AE. Might have been a leftover 09. Brand new. I'm happy with my 08, but I thought I ask what they would take for it just for the hell of it. He says he would take $10,000 for it. I'm guessing he meant 10 something thousand, but to me that is still a smoking deal if you want or don't mind an AE. That was three of four weeks ago and he could of sold it by now. Don't know. If your interested you can call Motion Cyclesports at 214-503-6262. Ask for the general manager. Can't think of his name right now.

Thanks GP. I didnt think the 2010's had AE, so maybe it was a 2009. In either case I'm not really looking for an AE version. I appreciate the look out though.

Yeah I'm old school on the clutch operated bikes too. I gotta have a cluth handle. Although I have talked to several AE owners who love them. Just not my cup of tea at this part of my life.

I bought my new 2010 at the Power Yamaha in Stayton Oregon last fall for $12,400 out the door. It included licensing with the State of Oregon. Good luck on the purchase.

Disclaimer: I have Nothing to do with this bike Or seller but I saw this Craigs list ad for a showroom condition 2009 with extras I thought is worth checking out. Search La Crosse, Wisconsin Craigs' List under "motorcycle" for FJR.

If you buy it, I could deliver it to you if you pay my transportation back. I promise not to drive it over 140 mph.
