Hm, wonder if I should stash my lid in the house instead of the garage
That DOES help, as the pinlock doesn't keep the flip-down sun visor from fogging. I started keeping my helmet in the house and now the sun visor is usable by the time I hit the end of the block, instead of after waiting a couple stoplights.
Worked like a champ this morning, as did the Fog Off. Or maybe it was because there was less moisture in the air today.

At the coffee shop this morning, for my Senior Citizen's Discount Breakfast, I asked my fellow Arizona geezer buddies about this "Fog" thing you guys are talking about. Nobody here in Phoenix has any idea what "Fog" is! Is this like a snipe hunt?
Kind of, but more personal, because instead of just wasting someone's time

SPOILER ALERT

using a burlap sack, a stick, and a snipe call, the goal is to get them to wipe spit or whale **** inside their visors and smear it around with microfiber cloths. Some of the more gullible types fall for it for months at a time. It's best if a disagreeable odor is involved - kind of like your geezer breakfasts.

Their other product - Raincoat - is da bomb. That stuff works like a champ, both on a windshield and on a helmet visor. Did anyone mention that it rained at SFO? And EOM??
I had the same result. Tried the Fogtech before I got the pinlock. It seemed a little "smeary" and distorted visibility a bit. But the Raincoat works great! I bought a couple boxes of it and use it on the windscreen and the shield.

Do you consider a 'breathbox' or whatever your helmet manufacturer calls it a 'major' physical deflection gizmo?
Honestly, I popped one of those in my helmet, and left it in for the cold weather season. I'll take it back out in the spring, probably about the same time I stop wearing a sweatshirt under my jacket. Once I adjusted the bendy nose bit, I haven't had to touch it, and I honestly forget it is even in there. I found this much less of a PIA that applying anti-fog coatings that worked like crap for a couple days and then not at all until reapplied. I've heard pinlocks work well, but some people are more bothered than others by the optical artifacts caused by having a double-lens.

Another option is just get a snowmobile helmet. You can get a double lens, double lens and breath box, or double lens and fighter-pilot style sealed breathing apparatus (this is what I consider 'major' deflectoin gizmo) OR you can get one with electric defrost.

Chris
I tried the Shoei breath deflector or whatever its called. Could never get it positioned right where it didn't hit my nose. Also, it caused my sunglasses to immediately fog up.

I've called these Zooke people twice, and let them explain how I'm not doing it right and it really works. I'm left wondering how the huckster at the MC show was able to wave that pair of glasses through the steam from the kettle and get one lens to fog up while the other remained clear.

I'm so damn gullible I hate myself.

I am going to save all this stuff and take it back to the MC show next year and demand my money back.

The reminds me of a scene from the movie "Fast Times At Ridgemont High"...

"It says 100% guaranteed, you moh-RON!"

"Mister - if you don't shut up I'm going to kick 100% of your azz!!"

Fog Tech available from the Stich folks works for me.
That stuff is also available direct from the manufacturer: Motosolutions Clicky. I've tried the Fogtech product, and it seems to work OK, but for me the jury is still out.

Thanks for the compliments on Raincoat...and Fogtech too.

Stay tuned, should have a faster/easier to apply spray on version of Raincoat in about 3 months. Testing now!

Don't beat yourself up about it. A lot of us have been suckered by those guys, myself included.

+1 to the CAT crap. It works great! Can be found at REI or BIG 5 sporting goods or probably any ski shop as well (but not your cat's litter box)

So far Only tested once Fog-It is working well https://www.webbikeworld.com/r4/clarity-defog-it/) Most of the time I use my Nolan with a pinlock and never had a problem. My other is a fog machine and Fog - it worked for the whole ride.
Which Nolan do you have? I just got a N103 with the pinlock. The pinlock works as good as it did on my Shoei RF900, but I'm getting a vapor area where my left nostrile blows onto the pinlock. Why the left nostrile only, I can't explain. Maybe I'm a lopsided breather? I can't find a breath deflector that's made for the N103 and something like the Respo Foggy mask won't work either because it'll take up what little chinbar room there is (and I'm going to need all that room for the intercom mic).
