Ride with the balls of your feet on the footpegs, not the arches.
+1

No sense wearing off the outside edge of your boots.
Call those boots "pre-peg feelers". Heck, I touched my toe once on the Dragon and I THOUGHT I was on the balls of my feet! After that I was on the FRONT of the balls of my feet, all tucked in.

I see guys riding all the time going into twisties with their size 12's pegged in the heel and arch. Some look like they are about to drag them without even leaning in a curve. I guess I'm glad that I learned to ride on a trail bike and I never seemed to have time to "relax" my feet on the pegs. Now, even on the interstate, I don't even hang my heels on the pegs unless I have to slightly give my knees a rest. Then, they usually go up on the highway pegs.

You guys have some good suggestions!

Thanx for the responses everybody! Kinda rubbed the bottom of my boot yesterday, had it tucked under the shift peg, only takes once for that to happen to be more cautious. Going fairly slow at the time, good thing! :headbonk:

Sorry to hijack the thread, but what is the warning meter. I notice I have it under my listing, but few others do. I only mention it here since it was mentioned in the original post. Thanks for your response.
Uh Oh FJRME... I've only seen 2 other people get the warning bar then they were banned soon after.
J/K... see THIS THREAD

On the FJR, because of it's more upright seating position, I find that I have to consiously remember to shift my weight forward in the turns if it's getting sporty. Also, slide your butt cheeks into the turn when required.
Ditto on what Jetmaker says. But the most important thing is not to ride beyond your limits and you will be fine.
