I read that article (or a very similar one) a day or two ago.  I haven't had any issues crossing into Maine a few times this year.   Other than occasionally getting a border guard with a pissy attitude,  most have been pretty good.  Got one jerk while crossing from Manitoba into Minnesota in June who was looking for a reason to turn me away. (Seemed to be an individual ***** rather than a policy thing.)

Anyway, thankfully no major problems although I try to be pretty careful with what I say and what I have with me.

The problem, see, is the border is so freaking LONG.  It would take a wall, like, 40 times longer than the one down by Mexico.  It's NOT personal.
