Gonna pick up a new 08' AE from the dealer this afternoon. The deciding factor for me was my osteo arthritis in my hands killing me this morning as I rode my Roadstar to work. Temp here was 29 when I rode in. Going to be about 45 today with a low of 24 tonight. I love my heated gear. Can't wait to get my new bike!!! Anyone gonna try to talk me out of the AE before it's a done deal, lol?

Ed

from a roadstar to an AE...what were you waiting for!!!!

good luck and have fun with it!

You are going to love the AE.

Just be ready for it to be different at first.

Maybe 10 minutes.

And remember that the ear to ear grin is all part of being a FJR rider. Welcome to the fold.

Tom

That's exciting news. Congratulations. Only problem is you'll have to change your screen name 'cause you'll be anything but "slow"!!

How about "Fast Eddy"?

Just try not to eat too many bugs through the grin. Oh yeah, the windshield helps with that.

Seriously, I bought an AE two months ago. Unsure about the "AE" part at first. 5 minutes on the bike and I was convinced. Talk about a fantastic bike, and the finger shifter/paddle thing works incredibly well, and is fun too.

All the best, be safe and enjoy.

I traded my 05 Roadstar for a 08A model. I love the Fjr but at times I miss the Roadstar. Keep it if you can. My Roadstar wasn't slow with all the Baron mods I did but not fast like a Fjr. It sure sounded good with Bubs Jughuggers though.

Keepin' my Roadie for now. Mine ain't slow either. Far from stock. I've built an Ultra out of mine and it rides great. Mileage is pilling up tho and I want to swap off and use the Roadie for "Sunday rides" lol. Wife wants me to keep it so it will stay.
