Just returned from a long day taking Amtrak to Long Island, inspecting, paying for and riding home on a 2005 FJR with 2350 miles on her; plus 300 miles to ride her home. She is a beautiful Galaxy Blue with a Givi V46 Top box, Throttle Meister, Heated Grips, Sliders, Ram Mount for my GPS, GPS Antenna and a Marsee 25litre powered bag. :yahoo:

There are some small scuff marks on the left saddle bag (I'll buff and polish them out next week) and a piss poor attempt to polish out several rock dings on the windshield (which i'll also buff and polish out with a plexy glass repair). Overall she road very well. I might need to have the TPS recall work completed still. Other than that it was a blast to ride home. Oh, remind me never to drive/ride through New York again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :angry2:

I'll post a comparison between the 02 Triumph Sprint ST and the 05 FJR as soo nas I can commit to the time.

Thank you everybody, for your suggestions and knowledge. I'm looking forward to may miles and smiles!

Congrats, Mate! I'd have been more leerey of riding a different, new bike that far, in city traffic!

The thought of trying to do the Cross Bronx Expressway gives me the chills. Last time I did it in the car I almost got the left front tire of the car tore off by a big foot deep pothole. Scary to think what would happen on the bike...

Congratulations on you bike & look forward to reading the comparo !

Your a bunch of girly men :D I live in the Bronx and commute to Queens and back each day. Makes for some FUN driving. :assassin:

Congrats on the bike.

And I have her other sister Bernice. She is ;) a lady most of the time but will pick up her skirt from time to time to show me what she's got.

Most likely you would have been paying a lot more attention while on the bike and would have made an easy swerve in your lane, missed it completely, and never given it another thought. :yahoo:

Rode the Cross Bronx "Expressway" in June. Managed to catch it during evening rush hour. Potholes weren't a problem. Traffic was so slow that once I spotted one, I could run to the store, buy some concrete, and fill them in before I got there.
