I currently have a Starcom that I run a Sirius radio through but the quality of the sound through the provided helmet speakers is adaquate at best. I would love to get a higher quality sound into the helmet and would like to replace the existing speakers. Have any of you experimented with this or is there a source for higher quality headphones? I don't want to use earbuds as some of you do because I find them uncomfortable.

I bought a set of decent headphones, gutted the speakers out and installed them in my helmet. It improved the sound quality and has a higher output than the original speakers.

I'm guessing you don't want to go earbuds. I have trouble with them for extended periods of time. One possibility is to Google "bass monster" or "bassmonster" along with "helmet" or "motorcycle" They might be superior to the stock Starcom speakers. I believe they're British made.

How does the Mic work when you get custom molds, does a mic come with them or do you have to fab something?

I, too, would be interested in alternative mikes to go with custom headset speakers & earphones. I'm talking about the basic mike, suitable for replacing headset mikes.
