I'm doing an informal poll to find out where women riders get motorcycle related info? We are contemplating some marketing/advertising for my women's touring company (www.northstarmototours.com) and I'm researching where some good places might be to be seen. ;)

Gents, any suggestions welcome as well! :)

Magazines?

Websites?

Club membership/s?

Web rings?

Online forums?

If yes to any of the above, which one/s? Thanks in advance!! :)

Hmmm. Just curious, why only ladies?

(I'm going to leave now because I feel like the guy who accidently(?) wandered into the ladies locker room)

Aren't websites, web rings & online forums all about the same thing or intertwined in some fashion? If so, that is how I receive the most info. I also talk with knowledgeable friends a lot.

Occasionally, I pick up & read bike mags

RidercoachLar, I'd assume that Tyler is looking for the most effective way to advertise her business.

Heidi, you're a smart gal! ;)
Would that make me a dumb guy!? Tyler, are you presupposing the guys around here would not potentially have useful and/or valuable ideas too? I know it can't be that you think none of us guys would be interested in helping out a sister on the forum.

Oh my, no! I would welcome any ideas that anyone may have... no disrespect meant... just trying to get a feel for where women riders go for information on riding and such. There are so many options out there and just trying to figure out where to get the best "bang for the buck" (so to speak :D ).

She gets it all from me...I hide the magazines from her - even the biker rags...

To clarify, we're looking at some marketing/advertising options for the touring company (www.northstarmototours.com) and just want to know where we might get the best "bang for the buck" (so to speak :D ).

Patriot, if you promise to wear a NorthStar banner when you ride, I may consider you as a marketing opportunity (so to speak  )!

Any specific sites that you hit up regularly? Or do you use a search engine (i.e. Google) to find what you're looking for? :)
I have found https://www.her-motorcycle.com/ to be one of the most comprehensive websites and I do go back to it again and again as there is a plethora of information to read. I am interested to find out any other websites that other female riders have found helpful as I have had trouble finding websites directed toward female sport bike riders and not just Harley's. Talk about frustrating!

No. I have NorthStar Moto Tours and dangerouscurves bookmarked :) and I've just added Her Motorcycle. But I don't go to any site regularly. Nor do I buy any particular magazine regularly. A marketing person's nightmare ....

OK, seriously, Rider Magazine :D

and I'll contribute by adding a company flag to my rack next to the flag of the United States and PGR flag gratus or preferably one of those racing stickers thingys stuck on my side panels under my Dragon sticker emblem.

Best I can do on short notice unless I renew my pilot's license and tow a banner or sky write the name of your company.

:drinks:

I'll work on the banner... you work on the license. :D
aaahhhhhhhhhhhh, OK...

how about this, Tyler, I'll wear, no problem, a high vis mesh Northstar vest :yahoo: OK?

[hoping to get a deep discount on tours; & am OK if I only qualify for the couples one as my wife wants to go as my passenger]

I would look into this fall's conference in Colorado that the AMA will be hosting. Women and motorcyling or something similar is what it is called. There is also an annual or semiannual event in Las Vegas that is aimed solely at women. I think that is called Fem Moto. Track day, demo rides with many manufacturers present, etc.

You might also look into doing something with your local H-D/Buell dealerships. H-D "gets it" with regard to female riders. They already host events called garage partys that are for women only. They might want you to be present to market your tours. The first weekend in May will be something special for women riders. I have been asked to put on a women's only Rider's Edge class that weekend. There will be some big marketing push nationally by the motor company. I just don't have any more details than that at present.

I think from an east coast perspective we could replace all the South of the Boarder billboards with Tylers avitar. Oh wait that would benefit the guys never mind. :yahoo:
