I just got done adjusting the valve lash and am putting it all back together. As per the OEM service manual it says that it takes 3.2 L of coolant to refill the coolant system. When I fill it up it only takes about 2.2 L of coolant filling via the radiator fill hole. then I burp the thermostat housing. Then warm up the bike let the fan cycle a couple times. When the fan kicks on the over flow reservoir is full and bubbles are coming out the bottom hose of the reservoir causing the coolant to drain onto my garage floor. Once I turn off the bike ALL the coolant drains back into the radiator with no fluid left in reservoir. I am under the impression that I still have air in the coolant system but am at a standstill as to how to correct the issue can anybody enlighten me PLEASE!!!

It will settle, when it heats up it pushes the air out and when it cools it sucks the coolant into the radiator, just fill the res between the full and min line and ride it for a while it should be fine.

So just for clarification, when i flushed the coolant there was still 1 L / 1 Qt. roughly left in the cooling system?

You said that there was a lot of bubbles comming out so I would think there was air pockets taking up space so you could not get more coolant in, a little coolant is left in the system unless you do the "Blow Job" to get all the old coolant out, I would not worry too much on the amount you put in after your flush, just keep an eye on the res after a couple of rides to make sure there is enough coolant in the res.

Yes. All three of my FJRs have taken right around 2-1/2 quarts when performing a normal coolant change. Let the radiator vent for a few minutes while filling, fill the reservoir to the full line and forget about it. After a few heat cycles, the reservoir will settle midway between the marks.
