grrr....do I stay and ride with more CA people or head back for home on Friday...decisions decisions...

I'll be a late "yes or no"; I might head home from Truckee, which is along the original route. If the route doesn't change, I'm more apt to ride along.

Hycle, I PM'd you that I might not make it. If I'm at Solano on Pitt School by 7:30am then I'll do this ride. Don't wait until 7:40 :)

tempting...you *******s...tempting :)

Now, can I make Rock Springs, WY in 6hrs???

After lunch in QUincy, you could head East on Hwy 70 to Hallelujah Junction, South on 395 to Reno then East on I-80. 75 miles or so, about 1 1/2 hrs.

I'm just sayin'...... :D

Distance listed is 598 miles, so the math is easy. Just average a hundred miles and hour. I'm sure the bike will do it, and the CHP is pretty lenient on out-of-staters. See you Saturday.
I'm really sad to say that I'll have to skip. I'll be loaded down with all the gear for home and I really should just scoot.

With the great, and I mean GREAT experience riding in CA, I can threaten, promise that I'll be back. :)

Ride safe, smart and cool on Saturday. I hope to be finishing up my ride home saturday...

We just thought you might need a broader experience with CA FJR owners after spending so much time with JB. :D

Seriously, there is that "call" to return to the homestead that we all understand. Get on the road early and cross the desert before the afternoon heat. AND....you ride safe and smart. A top for a few minutes of refreshment when its very hot is a good idea.

Sorry we couldn't hook up. Maybe next time your out this way.

Have a safe trip home

Depending on a couple of things... I may be able to tag along. I will know later in the week. One of my reservations is that Old Michael is signed up and I am not keen on riding with someone with his past criminal history.
Not to mention he has left the state and was last seen in a hotel room drinking Southern Comfort with Dr Pepper.
What was Dr. Pepper drinking? Hope it was something nice and cool. We might all be wishing for some tomorrow. Gotta admit, I'm intimidated by the forecast; it'll be my longest ride in real heat on the fjr, but I'm looking at as a test to see how even longer rides might go. And we're riding past a couple of lakes, right? Will you wait while I jump in?

No can make this ride. I confess I lost track of the date. But to be honest, I was always lukewarm on it because of the distance, and we CBA members have delicate hineys as you know. Also, I did two fairly long rides this week with TwistedCricket, so I got my M.C. exercise this week. (And I leave in a couple of hours for the BBQ mentioned in another post.)

In any event, I signed up to shadow tomorrow morning's MSF BRC range class, even though it violates my weekend sleep-in policy (I have to be there at 6:30! ).

Sorry not to have closed with you, Highlander, on my schedule after having mentioned hooking up. I'll catch you, and y'all, another time.

*****.

Well bad news for wanting to go on this ride.

Went to the doctor about my leg, unable to find out what is wrong alway in constant pain all day long.

Taking some pretty strong meds for pain. When they wear off, only able to walk about 10 steps than pain unbearable.

Do not want to put any riders in harms way and not to become a burden for the other riders, safety first.

Sorry for the space my screw up

So it will be a while before I am able to ride again hopefully in a couple of weeks.

But I always keep a :) about me things could be worse.

All of you ladies and gentilemen have a great time . :clapping: :D

This is a great route and ride to do

Hey there, Mr. Ride Cap'n, Senor El Jeffe, Mr. Bluestreek, Sir....

Are we going to ride along Donner Lake and up the Old Donner Grade, are we, huh, huh, huh????? And then stay on the Old Hwy 40 until Cisco Grove....you know, Ride along the Yuba River rather than on I-80 to Cisco Grove...are we, huh???

Do I need to install the Holeshot cans to scare the citizens, young and old?

I'm all for the Donner grade stuff. Never done it. Anything to shorten the I-80 part.

..........and yes, I say hang the Holeshots Mike! Loud pipes sa...... They sound good - on someone else's bike.

I plan on riding to Dixon early and heading to Del Paso from there.

See you animals in the morning.
