I tried 225 (real), 275 (made up), 125 (desperate). All gave same response as afterburn. Pretty handy little dealie there....not!

I think I found the problem. It appears that copying the shortcut and pasting it here doesn't work.

Lemme try something else (it is a decent tool).

Why are they showing a 43mm KYB when it's a 48? Misprint or....... :dntknw: I like the site otherwise-works now.

email sent - it is a misprint, but, if they used the 43mm kyb fork as the baseline, the springs they're selling might not be the right ones.

I attempted to compare the springs to the Wilbers I have coming, but the specs aren't comparable at all that I can see.

Racetech RT FRK SPR 36.7x34.5x315 .95kg

315 length?

36.7x34.5 ??????

Wilbers Spring rate: 7 / 10 Nmm (0.7 / 1.0 Kgmm)

# Length: 285mm

# Diameter: 42mm

Unless the Wilbers are a variable rate (thought they weren't) at .7/1.0 Kg vs. the .95 rate on the RT's.

Radman - are the Wilbers springs progressive or straight rate? If progressive, I believe the Race Tech are straight rate, so, that might be why it isn't comparable. I dunno.

According to Wilbers website, they supply both. But it's my understanding the FJR's are non-progressive.

If true, I wonder why? Any reason a progressive rate spring wouldn't be the best choice for this bike??

An interesting note here. Why is it that RaceTech calls for the same rate fork springs for a GL1800 Gold Wing as it does for the FJR? Could it be that they don't have springs over 1.0 kg/mm?

The GL1800 weighs 950+ and the FJR is 600 and change right?

Food for thought.

Something that's even more confusing....the stock spring rate on the wing is .70 and the stock spring rate on the FJR is .80

Something else to ponder...on our R1 race bikes, we used anything from .90 to 1.05. Keep in mind, in race form, this bike weighed less than 400 lbs.

They do make springs higher than 1.0, but, not for every fork/bike.
