So what are all of these "faster" Gen 1's running in the 1/4 mile?? Know of a couple 08's that will run in the 10's. How much quicker are they?
Low 9s. If the temp isn't too high. Mid 9s if it's over 85 degrees out.
No fair using time dilation caused by the mass of your manatee lover to adjust your quarter mile times.

Not me. I'd NEVER abuse a motorcycle by driving it fast.
& it never snows in Canada

Yall can talk a lot and ride straight lines but real skill and speed is in the corners . Ill take my gen 2 out a twisty road and show u gen 1's how much better our tail lights look.

Kind of an odd post for someone who started out whining about losing a drag race . . . . .

What UP said! Fook them Gen1 old ancient Indian-Fjr riders say..
Now, now, now, :nono: if it weren't for the Gen-1's, the Gen II's wouldn't have half the info that they didn't need anyway!
I agree, thank god for the Gen 1, if it wasn't for the Gen 1 the the Gen 2 would be a Gen 1 then all us Gen 2 owners would be jealous of the Gen 3 owners who are of course now Gen 2 owners who.......uh........I think I just lost my train of thought, if I ever had one. :dribble:

I bet even Howies old motor in the bike would beat a Gen2. :dribble:

I still yield to the '03 model as the 'king of the hill' as far as raw engine power goes (no, I don't have an '03) but on paper it's tops. So, for the American version, the Gen I still wins (though we're only 'bench racing') for all practical purposes.
My friend of mine has a a 03 I have a 05 and his is a little quicker than mine I still love mine.

Well, I rode a bit with Gregory -- he on his 2003 and me on my '06. In a straight line acceleration he had me every time, even if I anticipated his take-off. But I reeled him in a bit over distance. Corners are strictly a skill and cajone sport, and they even out depending on the riders and their skill set. But I could not keep up with that GENI for the first 1/4 to 1/2 mile at all. Just being honest. Of course I'm packing about 80 more pounds than Greg too.

My PussyKat is still plenty good enough for me. Lots of bikes out there are faster than her, but I can still get as many unwanted speeding tickets as the next fast bike. But no Pinks racing a GENI in a straight line for this old geezer.

One thing about GENII riders: the riders are nicer overall. I read it somewhere and I know it must be true. Just read some of the mean-spirited comments on the subject. :p

Sure....like a fat-fingered-**** would know ANYTHING! :p

But you're dead right about corners being a skill and cajone sport. It's the guy with no fear and no brains that'll beat you through the twisties every time.
