Have a slight heating problem on my 04, that I have not had the last 2 years that I have owned & ridden (put on abt 14k miles of commuting & distance) this steed. Thought maybe a radiator flush was overdue. Any suggestions on a good coolant..maybe something like Water Wetter. Need the heat disaapation aspect more than the anti freezing aspect, here in SoCal. Any problems I need to look out for?

This'll be moved to NEPRT soon enough...

There's actually a whole sub-forum dedicated to this type of historical info, called 'External Links' and the search engine works really well.

Because I can't be totally rude though...

Grrr Iggy beat me.

This is what my Motorcycle Mechanic who has owned an independent shop forever highly recommends:

Maxima Coolanol CLICKY

Maxima Coolanol can be purchased at Motorcycle Superstore (CLICKY)

I've used this in the past with good success down here in the deep south:

DO NOT USE ENGINE ICE.

I put that crap into a brand new 06 FZ1 and the temps went up 20 degrees at highway speeds. When I sat in traffic on hot days, 95+, the fans could barely keep up. When I drained it there were bits of gasket in it.

Stay with Ethol Glycol that is Silica and Phosphate free and use deionized distilled water. If you put a lot of miles on per year use whatever you want. If you are lazy and dont put a lot of mile on it use the extended life pink stuff just make sure its Silica and Phosphate free. I personally use the stuff thats in my two Volkswagens. Its pink, its extended life, its made for aluminium cooling systems and its silica and phosphate free and it has worked like a charm.

You also asked about Water Wetter. I put it into my R1 because I use it for track days and coolant isn't allowed. I noticed the bike ran cooler with it. I've used it for 9 years now and haven't had any problems.

Thks all. I shudda checked FJRTec.....duh!! I know-I know! Lotta good advise here, though.

And Slappy, surprised to hear abt Engine Ice. Used it or Water Wetter, for years on my R-6 for Track days in Kalifornia. But will deep-6 the bottle now. Cheers
