Those of us in the rains of the Northwest are shedding rivers of tears for you guys in Sunny SoCal.

:p

Here in Reno we got nearly 2" of rain just today. Finally this evening it turned to snow ....and stacked up fast.

the Sierras are getting hammered and could get around 8feet by Sunday ....we'll see

Here is RenoKathy this evening, outside the house about the clobber renojohn with a glob of the fluffy stuff:

Rain sucks ...let's hope the white stuff keeps coming!!!

Yeah, cancelled my ride plans for the weekend. Now I have to spend time with the wife. Damn, time to take up bowling or something.

BUT, there are a couple of considerations worth merit...

1.) Fires have burt most of the undergrowth so there is no root system in place to strengthen the topsoil. Floods and mudslides are a very real possibility.

2.) Drivers in SoCal don't know what rain is. Water on the roadway means absolutely nothing to them. In their knowledge banks, Hydroplane is a type of race boat.

3.) And SoCal riders have even been known to cancel weekend rides whenever rain is forecast.

Conversation as I drove up to Barry's house in Huntington Beach for the Great Smitty Autovox Install of 2007:

"Wow. Is that a titanium finish on your stock mufflers?"
"Nah. He just drove through the rain."
"Oh, I never ride when it's raining."
:D

We had quite the drought going in Maryland this year - something like 30 days without rain. I was doing what I called my "Rain Dance". Secretly, though, it was the "Dear Lord, please remove from these roadways at least 10% of the idiots, any way you can think of Dance". Yep, after 30 days without rain, the lowest achievers in the idiot crowd had completely forgotten some of the more important qualities of dihydrogen oxide/petroleum mixtures relative to driving. Crashes everywhere on the day of first precipitation following the dry spell. I figure the 1 to 3 days before many of them are back on the roads are 1 to 3 days of bliss.

I would do a "Snow Dance", but the kind of carnage that happens in first snow is something I don't want to be responsible for.

Severe storms here in Norcal too. We finally had our power restored after 60 hours. Spending that much "quality time" with your S.O. is enough to drive one INSANE!! :headbonk: I spent a lot of $$ on beer this weekend.

Great, it's snowing here this morning.

Can't you guys keep this crap down south? Sheesh...*L*

No fun unless you share....

Got caught in the rain this past Sunday. Surprising dry when I got home. Another plus in the FJR locker.
