Raises rear of bike approx. 5/8" for better turn-in and more ground clearance. Really easy install. I did it in 20 minutes. Removed when I sold bike. $25 shipped.

How does raising the suspension (with dog bones) increase the seat to peg distance?

Roadrunner I am not familiar with these. where exactly are they installed and how do you do it?

But you don't have to support it like in the original post. All you have to do is pop it up on the centerstand and commence to unbolting. A small piece of wood under the rear tire is all you need. The good advice in this post is the unbolting of the shock mount so you can pull the bolts out.

The dogbones are situated between the swingarm and the shock. Increasing or decreasing the length of the dogbone changes the distance between the swingarm and the frame (and the seat). This also increases peg ground clearance for cornering. Best I can do the explain. Maybe you can do a search of the forum or take a look at bikebandit diagrams if further understanding is desired.

The question was regarding how dogbones change the distance from seat to peg......and the correct answer is that they don't since both the seat and pegs are attached to the same frame.

Right answer. Plus, most people use dog bones to LOWER the chassis because they need the seat closer to the ground, not higher.

Yes it looks like I made an error. It does not raise the seat to peg, only the seat to ground. The benefits are quicker turn-in, and more ground clearance. The original post has been amended.

5/8" is about right. You don't want to go much higher than that or the bike starts to act funny especially on the highway.
