A rare day in N.E. Iowa today. Sunny, and about 57 degrees, and my day off. How could I resist? Thought I would throw a couple of pics in here. Crappy cell phone quality, and the scenery is drab with no color, but it felt Sooo good to go for a ride. This is actually the perfect temp. for a ride as far a I am concerned!

This is a spot about 15 mi. North of Dubuque called Finleys Landing. Along the Mississippi River, it is in a spot where the river silts in often, and the Army Corps of Engineers has to dredge often, resulting in a HUGE beach.

This is a view from a county road just outside of Balltown, IA. The count roads out here are for the most part in really good condition, with views like this, and overlooking the river a common occurance.

Good on you! The last few photos could have been taken here in NB - one of my favorite routes on the way to the Bay of Fundy area.

Hell ya!! Bleak landscape, but good for the soul nonetheless.

November has many great riding days in it. If you don't have to work you can pick and choose. It's just the weekends that tend to suck moist *** cheese... ;)

I try not to give up until after New Years, and then only till end of February. That way you don't need to do no steenkin' winterizin'.

I bet the Floridian's and Texican's lay it up for ~2 months in July and and August.

Nice pics...I totally agree about the riding weather in November.

Don't know about the Deep SouthEasterners in FLa,, but in Texas I ride year round ==Winterizing/Extreme Heaterizering is for Cruisers down here...AFAIC

Nice pictures and glad you got to ride!

I was up that way this summer. Balltown overlook is pretty cool. Made it up to Winona, MN (?) then over to WI for a couple of days. Paid the price riding home across IA to I-35 in heavy rain.

Nice area, especially compared to KS!
