I don't think I actually met Ray at any FO, but I saw him because that face is hard to miss. Great smile, always had a crowd of happy conversation near him. Lots of comments and wisdom (helpful or otherwise) was shared by that dude.
RIP Ray
I've never been to a RR, sadly. Haven't ridden much lately, but RR'22 seems like something I need to get to.

The most recent picture of my dad. The world lost an amazing man, I'm not a religious person, but they say God only chooses the best people to join him in heaven when the time is right and as much as we all miss him, I think god made a great choice. He will always be around, we will all see, do, or say something that will spark a memory, haha they may not all be good but at least he made an impression.

Dad, you are so very missed. Take care of mom, do all the thing you never did and we will be together again some day. ❤️😭💔❤️‍🩹❤️

Late to the notice, haven't been on the forum for a long while. RIP Ray, met you at a couple of rides.

I’ve been away from the forum for awhile and was so upset to hear of Ray’s passing He was in the crew when I first met the FJR Forum crowd that assembled for Wheatie’s tour back in 2012(?). I know he helped so many people on the forum, and was always good for a laugh and a smile.

He will be greatly missed :(

Russ, there's a gathering in his honor coming up Labor Day weekend... hope you can make it!

Well of course I waited too long and had to book a room at the normal rate. :( glad there was still room available at the inn.

However if anyone has to drop out (hopefully not) please let me know.

Thanks

I just learned of this sad news this morning while having coffee with @rmcobb while out on a ride. Thinking back on memories of Ray & Patti, the initial Ruben Run stands out among the number of times I'd had the pleasure/ honor of their company. @exskibum and I attended the first RR, where we met many new faces, but with Ray, Patti & family, it just felt like home, so accommodating and friendly, really making us feel like extended family. I recall a bunch of us piling into the bed of Ray's truck for a night ride into town down a dirt road for a beer run. It was great fun, bouncing around in the truck bed in the dark eating dust, but the beer was cold, so it was all good. They were both great people with Ray being a bright light on the forum with his wit and humor along with sage mechanical advice. They will be missed.

Can't add to much that John (CAJW) said, except to say that Ray was more than a huge part of the forum, but had a heart and frienliness about him that was even bigger. Long long time ago. I won't be making it this weekend but the bike that I had at that first 2012 Reuben Run will be availablle soon:

I've decided to sell my dormant '05 FJR ABS and/or including tools, farkles, parts. I don't yet know what to ask but for those who know the bike, it's still in great shape with under 60K miles. If there's any interest in a great mootorcycle, contact me, please. List of all that will be sold will be tallied soon.
