Yep it's real. I've seen those RC choppers doing stuff similar. The guy flying it was definatly skilled

While it doesn't look natural, what he has is reverse tilting rotors so that the rotors remain spinning in the same direction, but when reversed, the airflow (lift) instantly changes.

Pretty cool though, isn't it?

I don't know anything about them, it just looks unnatural.

It looks like some of those UFO videos where the witnesses say "it didn't move like any aircraft I have ever seen".

Lack of momentum = rapid directional changes.

The 'copter doesn't have enough mass for much momentum in any direction, and the servo reactions are lightening fast!

Any fixed wing pilot worth his salt will tell you that helicopters really can't fly...they are just so ugly that the earth repels them!!

I've been into RC helicopters for about 6 years now and although I do not fly like that I have been to many flying events over the years and seen the best in the world fly. That guy in the video looks like Alan Szabo and he just won the top 3D competition in the Nation a few weeks ago. Those guys live and breath the hobby and several are making a very good living from it.

you are correct, flying RC helicopter is my second love right now (my FJR is my first) Alan and Danny Szabo are truly one (or 2) of a kind. There arn't too many people in this world that can fly like that.....I sure as hell can't.
