Is it just me, or wouldn't that constant engine off-on crap annoy the **** out of you? What happens 6 years later when it doesn't "on" so quick anymore? What happens if your battery is a little iffy? Are you stuck at the light with everyone hitting their horn at you?

Since the '80s "Stop & Start" systems for internal combustion engines have been available from Volkswagen, Citroën, Fiat and BMW. Typically the S&S system results in 5-10% increase in fuel economy. Never heard of this? Shows you how well it works and how popular it has been. Perhaps GM's milliseconds S&S system will do better. The "Stop & Start" system is common on modern electric hybrids.

Seems to work out a lot better when the output is buffered by a DC motor. The call them hybrids.
